Dripfree
That's freakin sweet I've been watching Ebay for those but I've decided that its never gona fall into my price range just cuz magazines are heavy! All the good lots are usually out of my price range on shipping alone! I'd realy like to get my hand on COMPUTE! My gramps was a c64 man and he subscribed. Then in like 1996 my family got our first computer an Apple IIgs. No games of course that would rot my brain. My gramps would lend me copy's of COMPUTE! and I would spend days typing in a game. Then I would spend days fixing my typos. I got a couple copy's of Antic with my 800xl. In like two days I typed in every program in them. I love the articles too but I think the best part is the ads. +slx
Other side of the Atlantic AOL and Genie were out of reach altogether. How we envied you when we read this ads in ANTIC. Dumped a couple years worth of Compute! when moving 'up' to an ST :-/
+DrVenkman
Boy those covers bring back memories! I bought most or all of those at my local bookstore month by month when I was a teenager.
calfranklin
www.atarimania has most of these old Atari magazines for online reading and digital download. I personally own several of these Antic magazines in my collection also, but I usually check either Atari Age or Atarimania out for online reading of these hard to find publications. +slx
I like those bound volumes of ANTIC with lettering on the spine! That even beats the binders that many magazines used to offer for packrats. That brings back memories of fiddling with steel wires or rubber bands to keep the mags inside the binders (not ANTIC, though). Make not to self to ask the printer round the corner what he'd take to bind my stack of ANTICs.....
high voltage
got complete Atari User Antic and Atari User, loved those 8-bit mags during the 80s, read them over and over. Couldn't get on with Analog. and some Page 6 too: Edited May 7, 2013 by high voltage
