HARDEST & EASIEST GAMES

What is everyone's hardest and easiest Jaguar games?

For me:

Hardest: Madbodies - Starts out hard and quickly becomes almost impossible

Easiest: Frog Feast - Single player mode is just boring. Multi player can be enjoyable for a few rounds.

The Ruiner Pinball tables are pretty easy. Like most modern pins from the mid 90's on, seem to be able to just play and play and play until I get bored and walk away.

Zero 5 is kind of like that too (wanting to stop play before the game or level ends). Learning curve for the controls takes some getting used to, but the levels are too long and it's only a matter of time before you make a mistake and get blow'd up. Too many enemies to shoot before progressing IMO. Pretty much only play that game with the cheat codes to skip around levels.

Going by memory...

Easy: Wolfenstein, Ultra Vortek (as one character at least, you can single move your way through the game), VidGrid

Average: Most games.

Hard: Trevor Mcfur, Blue Lightening and Double Dragon V.

Impossible/Unplayable: Highlander

Seems like Trevor McFur is considered the hardest. Slightly surprised people are saying Double Dragon 5, not that its easy but I dont think its among the hardest.

In terms of technical difficulty I would said Raiden is the hardest, though its so much fun that its easy to get practice. In terms of a game that you are least likely to see the ending probably Cannon Fodder because its hard and very long. The Iron Soldier games are pretty tough too, partially because of the control style.

Wrt Trevor McFur I modded my Jag with a 50/60Hz switch and I can tell you in 50Hz mode it gets easier, not by a lot but it's noticeable (at least by me).

You need a scart cable (RGB) to see 50Hz correctly unless you are already in PAL land, unfortunately NTSC50 was never a thing (vs PAL60) and so in the US no TV I managed to try likes composite/SVideo at 50Hz.

For a shmup Trevor is really easy going. Same with Raiden, it's one of the easier versions of the game.

Iron Soldier (2) is very hard because of the tight mission design - the escort missions are a PITA!

I wouldn’t call Theme Park easy, I’ve never managed to turn a profit in that game even after reading multiple guides.

I get a solid picture running 50hz composite into my NTSC LG OLED TV. I don't know exactly which model it is, but it's the last year they made them with 3D support.

Highlander is very beatable.  Some of the puzzles are a little challenging.  Most of the idiots on YouTube don't even bother reading the instructions and figuring out the combat and get owned in the first village and blame the game for their lack of basic knowledge and a little skill.

I'm with the Cannon Fodder crew.  That game is frikin' hard in the latter levels.  Has anyone ever beaten Cannon Fodder on the Jag?

I love that this thread started with Mad Bodies and Frog Feast...

I remember following Mad Bodies quite a bit on Jaguar Interactive 2, but somehow the game came and went quickly and I missed the chance to get a copy...
