cimerians #101 Posted June 26, 2013 The SMS and Genesis are a few years apart. The NES was just hitting it's peak in the US when the Sega consoles hit. Lots of overlapping.
toptenmaterial #102 Posted July 1, 2013 The PS4 and XBOX One didn't come out when the Wii U did. Couldn't the Wii and Wii U be like the 2600 and 5200? Excellent point! I suppose that would depend on how well the Wii was supported in relation to the 2600. My guess is that the 2600 continued to receive robust support throughout the 5200's abbreviated life span. If Nintendo were so inclined, there could be a Wii Jr selling 5 years from now, because the Wii is cheap and venerable and people want it. And I do believe that it is still outselling it's successor. But regretfully I think that Nintendo is intent on killing it.

I predict that in the very near future you will discover that it . Also, the Wii U is backwards compatible with the Wii(Atari 2600 adaptor?) and look at how long the GameCube was backwards compatible on the Wii. Nintendo has copied Atari's model for support for games until they "die" through backwards compatibility. They also copied Atari re-releasing their greatest hits in red boxes. The Wii U's controller being as big as the console also reminds of the 5200's trackball. It is Atari 5200 and generation two or three or WTF ever all over again.
