An HI-RES Horizonatal Scrolling Shooter

Recommended Posts

Lately we had many horizontal scrolling shootings from diferente guys where always the, at lest, the enemy ships only move on the middle part of the screen (a sort of C64 Delta type).

I have something thinking in a way with someone here to have Delta or a sort of into A8 using some old ideas but yesterday I thought that almost the same I could get it in Hi-Resolution.

The building engine it's like this:

DELTA LIKE AND ENEMYS IN HI-RESOLUTION.

->Top and Bottom grounds with nice gfxs 5colours ANTIC4 charmode and Horizontal Hardware Scrolling enabled in a 48Bytes wide screen

-> Middle Part in GR.8 Bitmap Mode no scrolling on an empty dark sky (no chars limit and around 12 or even more 3x3 size enemy soft sprites moving) where:

OUR SHIP: P0+P1 Multicolour 3colours

SHOTS: P2 (many different type possible)

BONUS TO CATCH: P3

STARS: MISSILES in PF3 colour/5th Player 1pixel put all over the screen

It would look like this:

Credits and Thanks goes to the Authors of EG for the Grounds 2:1, TOMCAT A812:1 for the Enemy ships and XEO3 ones for our ship PMG sprite.

We can then have something like this:

-> Each Level would have each Sky colour (PF2) that would be that same colour in a lighter luminance (PF1) for the attacking waves:

-> But then on each level you can change the luminances of the various enemys attacking waves:

Anyone interested?

We could build lots of beautifully diferent coloured Grounds ( our ship and the shooting can still freely move on the Ground scanlines (like hiding, shooting Grounds weapons,...) but they can also have any colours and luminances.
