JohnPCAE
Just a little model I've been working on as an exercise for learning FreeCAD. I do NOT plan on making any matching boards, but I'd like to at least complete the case model(s) if I can. This one isn't ready yet, but it's mostly there. Rev
There was a rumor a while back that someone on Europe was working on this, i may even have a pic of it somewhere.

Uzumaki
Shell for IntelliVoice It'd be nice if someone could make a matching style shell for Inty 2.
+DZ-Jay
Sorry for the stupid question, but what is the intent? Is it to replace old broken units, or for a new, custom version?
pimpmaul69
Sorry for the stupid question, but what is the intent? Uzumaki
Or III's black and silver or cream colored Sears. Also I always though the original Intellivoice looked ugly in term of shape next to any Intellivision. Should have made it more rounded front to back rather than flat. Now if someone would do ECS that matches the "fat" models.
+Gemintronic
With all the homebrew savvy people here you'd think we'd have some sort of community effort to make open licensed cart shells in .STL format. 3D printing is getting less and less expensive. Uzumaki
3D printing is still not cheap. You're looking at a couple grand for a small machine. Plus depending on the plastic used, the finished product may not be as durable and can crack if dropped. However if someone has one and can do it' I'd like a few clear shells please. I'm tired of plain black shells and clear (either true clear or colored clear) is rarely used in game cart. AFAIK GBC is the only platform that used clear shell regularly. PS with the recent hype about printed gun that works, I wouldn't be surprised if you need a license to buy a 3D printer in the near future. Plastic gun with no internal grooving would make matching bullet harder plus it'd be easier to melt the evidence.

If we make cart designs 3D printer friendly now the inevitable will happen. Gun filter or not
JohnPCAE
If nothing else, here is the FreeCAD model file and .stl for the bottom half It has high and low standoffs for single or multiple-board implementations. You'll most likely want to just use the high ones, but the low ones are there too just in case. Games For Your Intellivision
I agree that the Intellivoice case could be improved. I think it should have looked more like the Play Cable. Regarding clear shells,......I may be getting a shipment of Mattel like clear shells in.....

jaybird3rd
This is the pic of what a blue version will look like... Nice! Excellent job by the OP on the new Intellivoice enclosure, too. This model reminds me of the bottom half of the ECS Computer Adaptor case.
Games For Your Intellivision
The board is upside down, because it has 'BAD' written on it in magic marker.... Yeah, I am hoping to have red clear shells for the DOTC kickstarter copies....no promises though......

JohnPCAE
Making some progress on the top half, but there's still lots to do: - Ribbed top with cooling vents (harder than it sounds since the corners all have to be rounded a little) - Knob/dial/shaft cutout - Expansion port cutout - Separate knob/dial model - Separate removable expansion port panel (ECS style)
Utopia
This looks great and your work is much appreciated. Will you publish the finished CAD design so we can print our own? Edited May 16, 2013 by Utopia
JohnPCAE
Of course. That's the point
JohnPCAE
Ribs and vents are a PITA... (sigh) I just realized I followed the System Changer style too closely. I'll have to revise this later to put the ribs on a raised portion. Edited May 23, 2013 by JohnPCAE
