Just a fun little video I put together comparing the Atari 2600 racing games. I went by year of release.

I would play Sprintmaster more if it didn't require a joystick. That game would have been more fun with the driving controller.

 

Good video - I liked the pace. Would have liked to see a review of Turbo included.

I skipped both Turbo and Quadrun because they were not generally available (at least in the USA, re:Quadrun). I think there was another one that slipped my mind I forgot to review simply because I did not have the cartridge and I forgot it existed (I cannot remember the title for the life of me). Think it was an off-brand racer. You may notice I showed boxes and some of the catalog covers that the titles appeared in, along with the gameplay. Since I didn't own it, I did not review it.

good positive outlook on the games as well ... I did like Slot Racers as a kid when it was released ... today it doesn't hold teh same magic it seems

 

still my fav is Indy 500 .... hadn't tried Sprint Master but your Vid will have me looking for it

I have fond memories of Slot Racers and Enduro. Too bad Slot Racers did not have a 1-player option with decent AI. Enduro is the best racer on the system to me, and even better than some on systems to follow.

Wow - that was a fantastic review keithbk! The combination of fast upbeat presentation and the way you described the racing games was dynamite

I've just checked out several of your other VCS reviews - they are good but it's much more enjoyable to hear you talk about the games like you did here

Just in case you were wondering, I have been making a video of each game I own and then putting annotations with it (descriptions of the game, my opinions, a little game history if I can find it, etc).

 

Once I have posted it on YouTube, I link it to an HTML page within a forum I set up:

I set up the page for several reasons. 1) I couldn't keep track of all the games I had on hand, and 2) my retired parents are big Garage Salers and they would frequently call me about games they found. It was easier to answer from work with a page listing the games I owned (and whether I had the manual).

 

I put it all within a forum in case anyone wanted to talk about the games after I posted them, but also because I did not want to clutter up the forum here with all my videos.
