toptenmaterial
I have found some amazing deals on craigslist. This is not one of them: http://providence.craigslist.org/vgm/3785814794.html The compelling thing is that this person is selling some excellent games, and lots of them. But the prices are too high. Now, they are selling N64 games for "$50 to $100 depending on demand". I did respond with a (quasi-lowball) offer of $15 for Mario Kart 64. I could see myself going as high as $25. I'm just a little frustrated to see prices being jacked up so high, especially with emulation being so accurate, not to mention free. Thanks for letting me vent. ClassicGMR
Problem is - around here there's quite a few "retro" gaming stores and they're buying up all the good stuff and reselling it. Those are the resulting "going rates" in this area. Seems New England is extremely hard to find anything on Craig's List anymore worth buying. toptenmaterial
Yeah, it's a bummer. My #1 one resource for buying is AtariAge, and my currency is trades without a dollar value. You can always "feel" what it's worth.
amiman99
The problem with Craigslist is that is FREE. Because is FREE You can ask any price for your item and don't care, if it sells then you're happy and call them suckers. If you had to pay for the service, then I think the prices would come down, because you would like to get yours moneys worth and actually sell your item. I gave up looking at Craigslist, the prices are way over the top. The have very high expectations. Is this a good price? $159.99 Atari 2600 Jr System Complete w/35 Games 4 controllers and 2 paddles http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/eld/3748780942.html or Plug and Play games for $60? http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/ele/3786256310.html or Atari Paddle Controllers for $20 that you can get for $5 on Ebay http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/vgm/3764457776.html In the defense of Craigslist, I got a nice deal on some Amiga computers, most of the were in pieces/disassembled, but the price was good and I was able to fix some of them and keep them. So the lesson is: you need to weed out a lot of junk postings.
