New Broadcast Monitor for my Neo Geo MVS!

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of people use PVMs on the forums for classic gaming needs. This is pretty much the same thing, but just a bit different. It's a 9" JVC broadcast monitor. Looks gorgeous in person (the pics don't do the picture's justice). Combined with KoF 99's beautiful backgrounds, I'm just absolutely stunned. I got it in amazing condition, and the screen has no scratches on it or burn in. It's amazing looking to be honest :)

I'm sure this would get more attention in the classic gaming area, but since it's being used for the Neo Geo MVS, I figured I'd post it here. Loving the picture!

Despite all the digital translating and filtering of these pics, you can tell there is an incredible amount of detail and beauty as the colors/graphics seem to have an infinity (gradiency?) to them that's not so subtle! Nice purchase. I was wondering in your other post, what a "broadcast" monitor meant today. Yesterday, it's clear (pun intended) what's going on. JEALOUS!

I'd be throwing all sorts of gaming sources at that little guy. Imagine the Amiga, CD32, Jaguar, PS2, etc.

I would equate the visuality of the pic shown above to what we hear out of a really nice hi-end analog audio system.

Yeah, the picture is simply amazing. Now that I have this, I can totally see how it makes no sense to use an LCD monitor on anything classic. And quite honestly with you, this kicks the pants off my old CRT monitor. The lines are so sharp on it, and the colors are so rich. It's hard to explain, but hopefully these simple phone pics can show it off.

Yeah, I want to play quite a few systems on it now. I think I'd enjoy them better now that they're on the appropriate screen. I have my Dreamcasts of course, but I've sold off nearly everything else. I need to get some other older systems to really push this thing to it's limits. :) Loving it though for now, even if all I have is the Neo Geo MVS plugged in :)

I often say "Sank-You" like the menu select from Baseball Stars. :D

Yeah, they look great. I have two now. My wife thinks I'm just crazy when I pick those up. I think I paid $5 and $7 at goodwills years apart.

If I ever find another for cheap, I'll pick it up for sure. I don't really have a use for another, but why not? They're just fantastic classic gaming displays.

Btw, I applied my 161-in-1 cart's game selection sticker to my neo geo controller shelf. So now I can easily see what games I have before boot up. I applied it a little crooked. Oh well. :) Unlike vinyl, this sticker was kinda a one shot deal. I'm just happy it layed flat.
