MH_Warrior
Samus Aran,Joanna Dark, or lara Croft: Lara Croft Game.com or DS: DS Crash Bandicoot or Rachet and Clank: Crash. The R&C games were too complex for me. Transformers, voltron,Gundam or Gobots: He-Man! Zelda or Neutopia: Zelda. Often imitated, never duplicated. Gauntlet or Dungeon Explorer: Never played Dungeon Explorer, but it'd have to be one heck of a multiplayer experience to come close to Gauntlet. Pauline or Princess Peach: Peach was the best character in SMB2, so I pick her. Donkey Kong or King Kong: DK was in much better games, but seeing as King Kong is a lot bigger in size, he'd definitely win in a fight... Microvision or PSvita: Never played the classic console, but seeing as I have zero interest in the newer one, I'd have to give the classic one the edge. Odyssey or Wiiu: See above. MH_Warrior
Not a bad new bunch of questions... let's see... Remake or sequel: Wow. Tough one. It can be difficult to continue the continuity of a franchise, especially when it goes on for a long time and/or gets stagnant. I always liked the Ninja Gaiden games but I do NOT like the new games (they replaced the fun with boobs, impossible difficulty and boobs). On the other hand, everyone was skeptical of the Tomb Raider revamp and I'd call that one a resounding success. So to finally answer the question, if it's possible, I like to see sequels. Otherwise, remake. Pokemon or Digimon: Pokemon. First Person Shooter or First Person Adventure: As a general rule, I don't like games in first person perspective, especially FPSs, because I get bad motion sickness (the worst offenders are Blood, Metroid Prime and Portal). For some reason, Minecraft doesn't bother me, but unless I can switch to a 3rd person perspective (a la Skyrim), I won't even play these games. Turn-based RPG or Action RPG: Depends on the mechanics. I can enjoy grinding, and I've finished a handful of Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star games. Then again, Zelda is one of my favorite franchises and I like being able to swing my own sword. There's a lot more that goes into it, though. Skyrim would have been pretty boring if it wasn't for the engrossing storyline and environments, and even though Kingdoms of Amalur had way better combat mechanics than Skyrim, it suffered from a lot of other things (being too linear, not being able to save often enough, etc.) Short replayable games or very long but not really replayable games: Short, replayable ones. I may not put in as many total play hours into Adventure as I have Skyrim, but I can pick up and play Adventure any time I want to and not get overwhelmed or exhausted. I didn't come anywhere close to finishing everything in Skyrim and I doubt I ever will... Physical game or digital download: Physical game. I already have game I've bought on Xbox that I can't erase because they aren't on the marketplace anymore. The 2600 cartridges in my office, on the other hand, aren't going anywhere. Cheat codes or unlockable bonuses through gameplay achievements: Achievements. This is one thing I have to hand it to Microsoft for. When I first got my 360, I was excited about the new ways that certain achievements encouraged you to play games and gave you new goals and replay value. The novelty, of course, wore off fairly quickly in my case, but there's no denying the impact it's had on modern gaming. level based rom hacks or fan translations: Hmmm... I'd have to say fan translations. There is some very high quality fan-made content out there, but even I can admit that professional game designers more often than not do a better job than non-professionals. Plus, fan translations have allowed us Westerners to play games like Moon Crystal and Sweet Home, which we otherwise would never had been able to. xDragonWarrior
Remakes I been watching Pokemon since I was little and know more about them but Digimon are cooler and stronger First person shooter Both Short replayable games because isn't that what retro games are(except RPG's and some exceptions) Physical because I can't put a Digital game on my shelves nor admire their beauty now can I Cheat codes when unlocking the Item/character/weapon/level/vehicle Is a pain and unlockable bonuses when there easy to get Fan translations because some really good RPG's were not released In the us and with fan translations, you can play them without knowing Kanji, etc

MH_Warrior
Warning: Lengthy responses ahead. Watching a movie online or popping It In the actual VHS/DVD: I like owning movies on DVD/Bluray, but usually when I do have time to watch a movie, I don't want to get off my ass. This and the fact that I'm not home enough to justify subscribing to cable is why I have Netflix. (Which do you like better) when you had Kids or no kids(for the married ones): I am married, but no kids yet. Just cats. Preservation of rare Videogames or F It and play em like they were ment to be: If you mean emulation vs physical games, it depends. I do prefer the real thing, and there's really no reason for me not to shell out the few bucks for a 2600 common, but some games are ridiculously expensive. I can't believe how much SNES games are going for these days, for instance. And even if money wasn't an object, you just can't find a lot of these games anymore. And while I used to buy all sorts of anthology collections, it takes a lot for me to choose those over the real thing these days. The last one I bought was Midway Arcade Origins because the price was right and there were games on it I hadn't played in a long time (Robotron) or had never played at all (Xybots). Marvel or DC: DC. I used to be really into the X-Men as a teenager, but the DC characters always seem to have more depth and can be interpreted in so many different ways. Nintendo or Sega(company or console wise): Sheesh... Trying to exhaust me here or what?! As I've stated a few times here, I grew up with both an NES and Master System and there was a time I played them fairly equally. However, since the NES was actually mine and more people I knew had it and could relate to it, I grew a loyalty to Nintendo. I knew plenty of people who owned a Genesis and was always fascinated by it (enough to buy one as an adult), but back in the day, when it was time to upgrade, I chose SNES. Later, more to be different than anything, I chose an N64 over a PS1. So I guess I do still have a good amount of loyalty to Nintendo, and I still say that the NES is my favorite console of all time, but I never bashed Sega and I'm currently enjoying collecting Genesis games. New style of music or the old style(classic for the people who hate to be reminded that there old): Ok, last diatribe for this post and short answers from here on out, promise. As I've also stated before, I am a metal fan. I was an angry teenager who was totally antisocial and anti-establishment, so of course I hated (and still do hate) mainstream music. I also have a history in music journalism and have written hundreds of reviews. From my viewpoint, there is no "new style of music". Even in the underground, you have a lot of "retro" stuff that's made to sound line it is from a different time period. Granted, a lot of bands do a really good job at this (Ghost BC is one of the newer, more successful ones), but it does get more and more difficult to find good music that sounds completely original and fresh. And no, I don't consider anything on the radio actual music. Legos or Megablocks: Legos, although I used to have a bunch of the Tyco blocks that were compatible with Legos. Batman,Superman or Spider-man(the mans!): Batman. He has better stories, although there have been some great Superman stories too. 2D or 3D fighting: 2D. I like Soul Calibur and Tekken well enough, but I love me some Guilty Gear and King of Fighters! Marvel vs. Capcom or Street Fighter vs Tekken(the epic crossovers): Capcom has left a bad taste in my mouth as of late, and I greatly Pete prefer the aforementioned 2D fighters, but I did have fun with MvC. Ice cream or cake: Ice cream. It takes longer to eat and it's more satisfying. Your videogames or your wife/girlfriend(yes I went there): My wife loves video games so I don't have to choose!
