As they are planning a new, better version, I would not buy the old one. One Tempest is enough.

To me Tempest Xtreem is redundant. The gaming experience, while novel because it's on an 8-bit platform, a classic 8-bit platform, is still sub-optimal. I'm just slap-happy Daddy'O dandy with M.A.M.E Tempest and Typhoon 2001 (a remake of Tempest) for the PC and OpenGL.
