Problem solved, unless your friend happens to live in the boondocks or on a military base with no Internet. I'm officially calling it: There's no such thing as an 8th generation for consoles.For the time being, 8th generation will remain accessible, but only for as long as the corporate giants allow it to be accessible. Consoles for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc generations still exist and are therefore still accessible to gamers, even 20, 30+ years after support has been discontinued.
