800 RAM voltages

If I'm not mistaken, the RAM for the 800 uses three different voltages much like the ColecoVision does, with 5V, 12V and -5V. Is there any way to change out the RAM for 5V-only chips and eliminate the 12V and -5V rails?

Why would you want to do this, unless the Ram is defective?

I was hoping to eliminate the 12V and -5V rails so that I can use a DC power supply, the same one that I use for most of my other consoles. It seems a little more involved than I'd like judging from Claus' mod, so I guess I'll just stick with the stock power supply.
