Intv2 Arcade Controller pre-order / interest list

Recommended Posts

There is no one who expects you to do it that way and I would reject it, even if you will offer that. If I buy an item, I have to pay it before I receive it, that is the way deals are usually done and in this special case I dont really buy an item, I just send you the money you had to pay to build my stick.

works for me.

I'm thinking when all 10 are done and I have final price I'll PM buyer (in order) with price (controller + shipping) and if they still want then they can pay and I'll ship. If they want to return (if not happy), then I can refund after its sent back to me.

I think people will be happy with them though. I would guess we are 2 months out, as I have one issue to clear up.

@ pimpmaul

I dont want to play with 4 players, I just dont have a working Intellivision II or Sears and thats why I asked if I can plug his controller into my ECS to use it on my Intellivision I, or if I have to buy a working INTV II or Sears. But I am afraid its not possible to use his stick with the ECS. Or was it that what you wanted to say, because the ECS controller ports are for the controller 3 and 4?

i was implying that the ecs uses players 3 and 4

Here is the build so far

http://www.flickr.co...@N08/9147387809 - new bearing and spring receiver

http://www.flickr.co...@N08/9149619658 - new buttons, balltops, microswitches

http://www.flickr.co...@N08/9149620386 - shows the metal 8 way gate, 4 way gates are still on order

http://www.flickr.co...@N08/9149636624 - holes cut on Bridgeport milling machine, some buttons installed. Please note middle two buttons are cut on the bottom sides so it fits flush. You see fresh grease on controllers, but that will be cleaned up. Joysticks got fresh Seimitsu grease. Camera again shows buttons as white, but they are smoke color.

I'll get the rest of the buttons in this week or next. And then work on the PCB design again.

Do people like the idea of a built in lipo rechargable battery or should I stick with the 5v adapter?

lipo should be good for around 400-500 charges.

Perhaps the battery may give the controller more movement autonomy. For instance, some players may prefer to play with the joystick on their lap. This may be awkward with a Power supply connected. Just a thought.

Here is the wikipedia link to the LiPo batteries. They look like the ones that are used in quality digital cameras.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_polymer_battery

In my experience with digital cameras these type of batteries recharge very fast. They can also be partially reloaded if time is a constraint.

However, the wikipedia mentions that there are some limitations (e.g. danger of explosion!).

I am no expert so it would be interesting to hear other perspectives.

yeah, need to follow the lipo charging rules. But I agree battery would need to replaced at some point in time. I've been playing with the alpha unit and cords is not so bad, if the power outlet is near the Intv2/Sear as the cords run in the same direction. Perhaps in 2014 I'll make with lipo, for now I'll stick to AC adapter.

I have been using Lipo Batteries for RC Flying for quite a while now. They really need "charge management"

If you fully charge them and put them away for a longer time they tend to "puff up" which means you shouldnt use them anymore because of the risk of fire. Check youtube for Lipo burn or Lipo explosion, you wouldnt want that to happen in your livingroom.

Also, when you completely empty them they break down, and when that happend there will a risk of fire again when you recharge.

It is reccommended to put them in a fire- proof safetybag while charging at all times.

They are a special breed of batteries but when used correctly amazing effective.

I can fly all day with three batteries and a charger connected to the battery of my car.

Hey Grips

Do the sticks have these sticker on it? - http://commons.wikim...ile:CE_Logo.svg

If yes, please dont remove them for us European guys, because the custom offices sometimes keep advices without these sticker and send them back or destroy them :(

If these stickers are not on the sticks (as far as I know this sign is just important for the european market), could you send the sticks as a gift? We can talk about the details via PM, but it would be sad if stupid rules would cost me a lot of money and my controller

Edit: And is there a small manual in English for the Neo Geo stick? I dont need it, but its also something german custom offices want to see sometimes, manuals in a european language (englisch and german prefered)

The AC adapter does have this on it, but I might be going 2xAA battery route, but I need a new PCB so I can test battery life. This should occur over the next 6 weeks.
