Rarity and the value formula

Recommended Posts

Does anyone use a particular formula to gauge the most they would pay for a game based on rarity?

I mean, I wouldn't give more than 1 cent for a game rated at 1. I might give 50 cents for a 2. Maybe a $1 for a 3... etc.

But how high would you go for a 10? Or a 7 or a 6? Does anyone use a formula of some sort?

My formula is that anything 7 and up is probably worth at least $10, but anything below that is flexible based on you and the seller. 8 and up $40.

I think price will also depend on the popularity of the cart. The more people who want a game, the more the price will rise on a site like eBay.

Also to give you an idea about the price for a 10 game, I've seen Music Machine sell on eBay for almost $300.
