mwalden
That looks like box art for the unreleased Sinistar arcade game conversion for the 2600. http://atariage.com/...wareLabelID=812 See the arcade game here: http://www.arcade-mu...hp?game_id=9553 Why label it "Sky & Rocks" ? "pretty funny"? I call it a pretty cool find. Edited June 7, 2013 by mwalden

It is common for the illustrator to name the art totally different than the game. Unlike programmers they didn't always play the games or even know the name of the game they were working on. For his assignment might have been given the image of the Sinistar boss and then asked to place the image "in the sky" and surround the ship with rocks thus we have "sky and rocks". +Allan
How big are those and what's the other picture? Those are nice paintings. Could you do scan or a strait forward photo of them? Allan

Allan Nothing special. These are just standard sized polaroids someone at Atari took one day.

+Allan
Nothing special. These are just standard sized polaroids someone at Atari took one day. Actually that is pretty special. That might be the only copy of that piece of artwork. The others are obviously 5200 Asteroids, arcade Asteroids Deluxe, and like you said, 7800 Galaga. I know it's small but can you see who did it? Buyatari
If you google 2600 Sinistar you will see this image on modern homebrew style release boxes. Perhaps advertising of some type was released with the same image.
