Rabbit 2600 #1 Posted June 8, 2013 Curious about what kinds of games you guys like on the Atari 2600. Racing, space shooters, fighters, puzzle, simple ones, advanced ones? Personaly I like simple games like Yars' Revenge or Dragon Fire
+Random Terrain #2 Posted June 8, 2013 Here are some of the games that I like: randomterrain.com/atari-2600-memories-favorite-games.html When it comes to batari Basic games, I like it when a person spends 3 months or more on a game to get it as good as possible. Bug testing and polishing can take at least a month after a person thinks a game is finished.

KevinMos3 #4 Posted June 9, 2013 Hey! What do you mean by "you people?" I like games that I always craved as a kid, but never existed: large multi-screen games with good graphics (besides Pitfall II and HERO). For years, I looked for Altered Beast and Rambo (supposedly a game like Contra), because one of my cousins was certain he saw an advertisement. I think your Batman example has potential to be one of these. You could make a handful of screen-by-screen (non-scrolling) levels with some cool variations of the backgrounds. It could almost be a Double Dragon or TMNT style beat'em up if you wanted to take it that far. Of course, it would require a lot of work, but you're learning quickly. Personally, I think it would be cool if you kept adding features to and expanding one game while you're making the other mini games that are teaching you new coding skills. I've found that the polishing/improving process is indefinite, and eventually you have to stop yourself or the game will never be finished It's the stage that can really burn you out if you're not careful. +Gemintronic #6 Posted June 10, 2013 For me pining over the same game is the kiss of death. Eventually the feature creep ends up smothering my capacity to deliver the game. For me, whatever the latest physical game I've made is my favorite 2600 game. I still play an occasional round of M.M.S.B.C. II. http://atariage.com/...6-mmsbc-2-done/ Right now I'm playtesting/debugging my current project. That's shaping up to be a favorite as well.
