thegamezmaster
I have a copy of Snes Shadowrun. The problem is it starts to play on 2 of my original Snes's, then goes to a black screen. Then tried it on my mini Snes, Snes portable, and another original snes and the game works fine. Tried cleaning the cart contacts, and the cart connector on both Snes's that it won't work on. Even took the connector's apart and cleaned them. Checked all the pins and nothing looks bent or bad. Even tried putting in a new connector, no difference. Solder connections look ok on the motherboards. So at this point I'm stumped. Anyone else have this happen or have any suggestions? I appreciate anyone's help with this, thank you. tpugmire
Do you still get sound when the screen is black? I have a SNES that does what you are describing.

The game shows title but when you go to select a new or saved game it goes to the black screen with no sound. Thanks for the reply.

19rsn007
is it PAL or NTSC ? How about the consoles you try it on? What region are they? Do they have disabled CIC's ? 50/60 Hz switched your SNES-es? Have you tried clearing the game memory (if it uses a save function)
thegamezmaster
All are NTSC, USA region and all are stock with no mods. Haven't tried clearing memory. Need to find out how.

Does anyone know how to delete saves?
19rsn007
do you happen to have a gamegenie or action replay? if so, just put it on there backwards, put it in your snes and power it on for about 30 secondes... if I recall right.

bust3dstr8
You can open the cart and short the ram manually.
thegamezmaster
You can open the cart and short the ram manually. How is that done? Found nothing on Google.
bust3dstr8
Hold a wire on the Vcc pin of the ram and then ground it for a few seconds. The SNES uses common rams that should be similar to this

thegamezmaster
Update: tried an exact type of game with identical board and some of the graphics were garbled. So I'm thinking it's the decks not the game. Any suggestions? Thanks.
bust3dstr8
Sounds like good ole hardware incompatatbilty. It happens now and then with certain games and certain console revisions. Nothing much you can do about it.....toss it back on the shelf and move on
