AlexKIDD #52 Posted July 4, 2015 Wow some of you have really impressive collections. I've had more in the past but unfortunately went through a couple periods of selling things. I've always made a point not to sell certain things. Portables and modern systems tend to go first when I need money. This is what I'm left with: Atari 2600 woodgrain 4 switch Atari 2600 Vader Colecovision Vectrex Sega Master System (the big black one) Sega Master System (smaller grey one) Nes (top loader) 3 Sega Genesis model 2's Snes (2nd version) Turbo Duo (not working atm) PlayStation (small one) Dreamcast GameCube w/ Game boy player Wii Handhelds: Gba sp Nintendo DS At Games Genesis portable Neo Geo X I also have a Colecovision Flashback and a Yobo Nes clone. Not sure if I'd count those as real systems. Some of the best things I've sold include TG-16's, a Turbo Express, Sega Nomad and several PSP's. I'm going to try my best not to sell systems anymore and hope to add an Aes, a new TG-16 and a 5200 to my collection by the end of the year.

Bill Loguidice #56 Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) This thread just makes me curious about where people put these things. While I don't call out duplicates or "same platform" in the ~513 devices in my possession (it's how I choose to catalog things), here's what I presently have: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qzZhCEpM3V7YPWYNWJDFgi-lUBoH-RY6iCH6wZGza1g/edit?usp=sharing I know in my case, my basement is a disaster area for various reasons (book projects, general distraction, etc.), as is my dining room table, which I use for working on something since my basement area (which consists of an office, long hallway, rec room, gym, and storage area) is the aforementioned disaster. I should be able to get it in order like it used to be, but I honestly don't know how many months of work that will take me and I haven't been good with finding the energy (or time) nights and weekends to do it. I regret letting it get out of hand like that, particularly as I've been adding to my collection in the mean-time. Naturally, there are the consoles and computers that my family and I currently use and those are in the main living areas. I'd say those number in the dozen or so systems, with everything else more or less in the basement. Edited July 5, 2015 by Bill Loguidice
billysastard #57 Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) This thread just makes me curious about where people put these things. obviously i can't speak for anyone else but for me all the systems i use are either in my front room or dining room, all the rest are piled in the old boiler cupboard 6 feet high and almost 5 feet deep (and fireproofed and locked) once the boiler was upgraded and moved it was just a large empty void off the hallway so i had it lined and shelved with hardwood and all the systems got shoved in there, most of the psu's are in a underbed plastic trunk, same for pads / sticks which are stacked up in the dining room and all the video leads are in one of those plastic tubs with a lid and that is on the psu / joystick pile, the exceptions are amiga, 360 arcade, launch 60gb ps3 and a few spare systems which are in the cupboard under the stairs. Nutsy Doodleheimer #58 Posted July 5, 2015 I am not collecting for a giant museum like Gamester81 does. I acquire the consoles that I will enjoy and is fun to play. I don't want to stash everything around in a pile or take up too much space. Neatness and organization is the key for a good collection in my terms. Mangia-Boy #59 Posted July 5, 2015 4 different Atari 2600 models with more than 500 different cartridges. One Mattel Intellivision, the only console, which I possessed already as a kid. 3 Colecovisions, not all of them working without problems. 1 Atari 5200, 1 Schmidt TVG, this is a German version of Emerson Arcadia. The last three systems I play with Multicards. Two systems I want to purchase later, the DINA 2 in 1 or alternatively a Sega SG 1000 and an Atari XEGS. Zap! #60 Posted July 5, 2015 Well, here are mine, in roughly chronological order. I'm including adapters and add-ons such as the Intellivision System Changer and Sega CD because, although they may not be technically consoles in and of themselves (though some, like the SC, technically ARE, and just use the main system for power and signal output), they provide either an additional means of playing a format of games -as any other console would- or a means of playing some formats of games that could not be played without them. I'm also including computers, and my two arcade cabs. So, you can cherry pick what you want to include or not: 1. Odyssey 2. Anti-Aircraft (arcade cabinet) 3. Tank (arcade cabinet) 4. Odyssey 100 5. Odyssey 200 6. Sears Pong 7. APF TV Fun 8. Telstar 9. Channel F x2 (one dead) 10. Hanimex TV Game Model 777 11.Odyssey 300 x2 12. Odyssey 400 13. Odyssey 500 14. Hockey-Tennis III (dead?) 15. Austin #62 Posted July 5, 2015 I have been slowly downsizing over the last year but I think I am happy with my current hardware set. I think the only thing I want to add to it in the future is a PC Engine DUO and a Virtual Boy, then it will pretty much be set. Lots of obscure stuff out there I just decided I don't really need anymore. Skippy B. Coyote #63 Posted July 6, 2015 I'm not a huge collector myself, but I do have a small assortment of the systems that I enjoy playing games on the most. Currently that includes... 1. Atari 2600 (Darth Vader model) 2. Nintendo NES (Original toaster with new 72 pin connector and NES10 chip disabled) 3. Sega Genesis (Model 2 w/ AV cable output) 4. Sony PlayStation (900x series) 5. Nintendo GameCube w/ Game Boy Player (Black) 6. Nintendo Wii 7. Xbox 360 8. Atari Flashback 2 9. ColecoVision Flashback 10. Nintendo Game Boy (Original Gray Brick) 11. Nintendo Game Boy Color (Grape colored with custom colored d-pad, buttons, & power switch) 12. Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP (AGS-101 backlit version with custom purple housing) At this point the only systems I'd really like to add to that list are an Atari 7800 and a real JAMMA compatible bartop arcade cabinet. BassGuitari #64 Posted July 7, 2015 Interesting, but take away the Pong-types (Flashbacks sorta fall into this category), computers, and variants (N64 orange and green), and your list drops to more normal numbers. What can I say? I have a lot of what I like. I'm actually thinking about downsizing a bit, though. I rarely play and have little interest in a fair portion of my collection. In retrospect I wish I hadn't listed them all out like I did. It looks show-offy. And I doubt anybody cares. I'm actually a little surprised you made it all the way through; even I don't care to read through it all. Somewhere around #60 I should have just made something up.

thadsilverfox #71 Posted August 3, 2015 All my systems are in labeleled USPS priority boxes in a closet. You have to dig through them to get to the one you want to hook up to the TV. I just started collecting them this year and I'm at a cross road on whether I want to continue building the collection or selling off the ones I don't think I will ever play much. omegadot #72 Posted August 3, 2015 With the exception of the SNES (it is on display) and the PS2 mine are all hooked up and accessible. A few in a 'tower' shelf next to the MAME machine hooked up to it's screen, the two current gen up to the main TV in the living room as they are in almost constant use and then ps3/wii (mostly for emulators) and Genesis in the bedroom. I'm not sure I want a bunch that aren't played, myself. We'll see where it takes me. Heh...
