Gregory DG
Maybe instead of just dropping the amulets, you have to throw them at the boss to escape. Add some action to it. Edited June 17, 2013 by Gregory DG

Rabbit 2600
Here's a big update. After collecting the 5 amulets, you go to an enclosed room and then watch your guy walk out of the house and into a new one =) (Still working on the eventuall boss) Demo - Spooky Mansion Multiple Mansions.bin
Cybearg
I very much enjoy the game so far. If you could create a number of mini-bosses that would randomly spawn after beating castles and if there were one or two more kinds of enemies to add to the ghosts, that'd be super! I find the controls and the rumble of the walking/amulet sounds to be very cathartic and satisfying. I'd suggest you increase it to 10 amulets or something, because I find myself getting 5 before I even realize it, quickly having to see the leave/enter animation more frequently than I would prefer. Also, perhaps try giving the castles (and all the rooms within them) a randomized color, so it'd feel like you were going into new castles rather than leaving and re-entering the same one. Great start! Is this using the multisprite kernel?
Rabbit 2600
Thank you for your review. I had the same idea about having different kinds of enemies. And I believe I can make it so that it's a random enemy in each room. I just need to come up with some designs. And randomizing the colors for each new mansion is also a great idea, but at the moment that is outside my knowledge. Maybe at a later stage it will be possible. And yes, it's using the multisprite kernel.
+Gemintronic
In order to avoid too much flicker you could define boundaries for each ghost. Say, each gets a third of the screen. Remember too: there's a couple of pixel extra space needed vertically between sprites need to avoid flicker.

Rabbit 2600
Okay, try this out. This version features ghosts, possessed pumpkins and undead monks. The pumpkins might get swapped for a new type of ghoul in the future. Demo - Spooky Mansion 3 enemy types.bin

Rabbit 2600
Okay, here is the latest version. It's a bit more challenging so you have to be pretty strategic to get the amulets. Gregory DG
Are the rooms supposed to be random? I went back-forth between the same two rooms and they were different every time. Also, if I were in a spooky mansion, I think I would be running a bit faster. But that's just me.
Rabbit 2600
Yep, the rooms are always random. The mansion is cursed after all. It does everything it can to stop you from leaving. Okay, I'll speed up the guy a bit in the next release =)
