Is '125' truly the amount of officially released Intellivision game?

Recommended Posts

Obviously, we are not related. My name is Moeller, his name is Mueller.

I met Carl in the 1990s on Usenet when he was writing the world's first Intellivision emulator. He had been given 2 roms, Popeye and Truckin' by Sean Kelly. They were pulled off of prototype eproms. Carl was making some great progress, but needed more games, and the Exec and GROM to continue. Nobody knew how to dump Intellivision games at the time. I knew that I wanted to help, but had no technical skills. I asked a clever friend named Scott Nudds (Who is writing Boulder Dash ® now) about how to dump the games. He said 'it's trivial'. I asked him to prove it. We went to my local college, and did some research. We found some information in an old Osborne book and ripped apart my Intellivision. Soon, Scott built a cartridge dumper, and we dumped every game we could get our hands on, as well as the Exec, GROM, and eventually the ECS Exec and RESROM of the Intellivoice.

When we sent all of this information to Carl, he really started to progress on the emulator. Eventually, I collected all the information into a document I called 'De Re Intellivision' based on the Atari 400/800 book of a similar name. I requested that a hand controller interface be built, and eventually, the emulator supported real hand controllers.

Scott built them by hand and wrote the driver. Carl dropped it into the program, and it worked on the first try!

Eventually, Keith Robinson bought the program, and started Intellivision Productions. So, we never appeared out of nowhere, like some think

I can rightfully make a claim that we STARTED the scene. .

Sorry for the off topic, but what is the relationship of Carl and William? I wonder about that since I am member of this community.

They were both shopping at the same grocery store. William turns the corner coming out of the deli and accidentally bumps his cart into Carl's. Carl jokingly says, "I guess we're going to have to exchange insurance information...lol" They have been friends ever since....at least, that's how I imagined it.

Ah, my mistake. I should take a closer look in the future, I really missed that you have different family names. But even if the question was made by a stupid mistake, its a very interessting story how you met and started.

By the way: This cartridge dumper would be a VERY nice thing to have, but I am afraid its not easy for everyone to make. The ROMs are in the Internet anyway, but I prefer to dump ROMs of my own games. If there is a Dumper released one day, I am in :)

I am seriously going to get all of you banned if you don't stop this tomfoolery and shenanigans! I will say it one last time.... The Original 125 is sacred, and those who speak out against it, and those that question it, should be kicked out from the Brotherhood. :)

And from the Prophet came the Number! And the Number was law etched in the finest Bacon, triple smoked and cooked to perfection. None shall question the number lest the wrath of Bacon shall descend upon the heathen and smite them - reducing their collection to VCS commons.

Is there a big difference between lf1 lf2 and word fun and math fun or is really just a variation of the same game sort of like spina the bee and spina the bee without level 1.

The LF1 is just Math Fun (with 'natural' order entry, i.e. 1's place, then 10's place, then 100's place as if you were working the problem on paper), with a new game - Factor Fun.

I think LF2 also adds one new game, but did a more ambitious overhaul of the game graphics.

So, both are more than mere variations on the theme, in that they each add a new mini-game to the mix.

Thank you, and Steve tried it out: It works, fortunately not for new games like D2K Arcade, but you can dump old releases with it :)
