Mister-VCS #1 Posted June 25, 2013 I love all my classic systems, games and controllers: Atari VCS 6switch, Atari VCS Vader, Atari 2600 Junior, Atari 7800, Atari 600XL, Colecovision with expansion module #1 and 2... BUT somtimes I look back into the good old times (1979 - 1987) - a time I only used ONE system: the Atari VCS 2600 6switch with 20 - 30 games. This system was "MY" system and I defeneded it against the "modern" times: NES, Master System and so on. The 2600 was my entertaining "home-base" - and it was to expensive to buy other systems or tons of games. Today, I have a big collection, but I don't know on which system I should be "proud of". Sometimes I love the vader, a few weeks later the original 6switch and a few month later the 7800.... Should I sell all my systems beside the "orignal" Atari VCS 2600 light-sixer??? +Random Terrain #2 Posted June 25, 2013 If you're too in love with a console, it can cause your brain to suddenly explode at some random time in the future and you'll sell off everything and make some big pronouncement about moving on and leaving the community. Being a super-fan of anything can be like that. For example, I always become wary when somebody gets overenthusiastic about my E.T. pages or something else on my web site or starts trying to crawl up my butthole in general. Sooner or later their brain will explode and they'll either disappear from the face of the earth or they'll turn into some kind of Gollum-like creature who might cut you open and eat your intestines. I lean towards the Atari 2600, but I'll play games on just about any console (as long as it doesn't have a crappy controller). I don't want to be proud of anything. I just want to find games that I can stand or actually like, then play them.

I understand your position, and I hope you respect mine! I am " proud " of my 2600 -better?
+Gemintronic #5 Posted June 25, 2013 The Sony and M$ fanbois of today confuse me. It's all about the games. Or, stretching it a bit, having the system that can play the game you want. I don't know the feeling exactly. *shrugs*
Algus #6 Posted June 25, 2013 I've definitely been enthusiastic about platforms or devices. My NES has a special place in my heart since I've had it for so long. I have no problem moving on though. For me it is definitely about the games. Unless it comes to the original kindle. I am definitely a supporter of e-ink over tablet displays.
godslabrat #7 Posted June 25, 2013 The NES is "MY" system. No one else is allowed to have one. If you have any NES stuff, be sure to send it my way so that all can be right with the universe.
