greblus
Foft, it works beautifully now thank you and the keyboard support in the menu is great. One thing I've to check yet is if Action! cart works on Mist with Freezer. The sc anlines option, wasn't it on by default previously? (looks better if it's off by default now, picture quality even through cheap video converter is superb). My personal wishlist for the future would be: - Basic off/on option with settings preserved between shutdowns (F8 must be pressed now during loading of a program which needs Basic off) - Core loading (and with this option, atari800 would be my default core on Mist)
vanfanel
@foft: I was testing latest DE1 core, and it seems keyboard-driver menu navigation doesn't work here. Is it supposed to be available in the venerable DE1 too? Also, could you release as POF for the DE1 instead of SOF? My DE1 is an Atari800 and having to boot it from the PC is clunky... Or maybe there's a SOF loader for the DE1 I don't know about?

kogden
I'm planning on getting a Altera DE0-nano to play with. Would this design work with a de0-nano? It has a newer/bigger FPGA than the DE1. I think a lot of mechanical work would be involved wiring up VGA and all the goodies. A PCB with ports, cart slot, SIO, etc with a socket to drop a DE0-nano board into would be awesome though. This one is destined for a 12-bit DEC PDP-8/e clone. Will have a full blinkenlights front panel console. I may get another later for an Atari clone. The 8/e had a similar MIPS rating to 6502 but was a 12-bit machine and was capable of some interesting things with its tiny instruction set. jhusak
I have written the one button game "SPEEDmaza" in Action!. However, there are some hscroll problems (vertical gaps) in low-graphics modes (40x24). Could you look into it? http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=64096 Edited November 27, 2014 by jhusak
foft
Thanks, I'll have a look. Expect DMA clock/display shift register timing is off for these modes.
foft
Farb has been working hard on a manual for this core. The first version is now available at: http://www.scrameta.net Please thank Farb! Either of us would be very happy to hear suggestions for improvements/fixes. --- Some other core news... USB is now working on MCCTV and MCC216. Just need to fix a few remaining issues - ETA about a week.

jugac64
Hi Foft, thanks for the new release! It works very well on the Chameleon and the keyboard navigation on the menus is much better than using the joystick. It would be great if you could cut the display of the screen on the left and right borders of the VGA core, since the glitches doesn’t look very nice! Thanks again and best regards,
NML32
Edit: moving post to "Atari 5200 in FPGA?" section. PS: working great Edited December 14, 2014 by NML32
jugac64
From the release details: 20141213: ... MCC216/TV:5200 build MCC216/TV:USB support (hid,5200daptor,hub,joystick,2600daptor) ... Can we use paddles in the MCC-216 with a 2600daptor? this would be pretty cool. As commented by NML32, now the Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad also works with the MCC-216 (USB direct attached)? As commented by NML32, now the Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad also works with the MCC-216 (USB direct attached)? Hey Juan, I haven't tested it but I'm pretty sure that paddles will work with the 2600daptor. My iBuffalo Classic USB gamepad works directly connected to the MCC but currently only works with foft's cores. Still a big plus for the MCC. My iBuffalo Classic USB gamepad works directly connected to the MCC but currently only works with foft's cores. Still a big plus for the MCC. The 'paddle mode' needs selecting when using paddles with the 2600daptor. This is to map the fire buttons to the joystick directions. Unfortunately the 2600daptor does not say when its got paddles connected - I might try and guess in a future version.
