+boxpressed #1 Posted June 27, 2013 Have to share one of the coolest items in my collection, thanks to fellow Atari Ager grips03: an adapter that allows Sega Master System controllers to work on a Sears Super Video Arcade or Intellivision II. (Seems to work with a Genesis Arcade Stick too.) Original controller plugs into one end of the adapter for keypad functionality, Sega controller plugs into the other end. External power supply as well. And cool sticker! Works perfectly. Buttons 1 & 2 mapped to corresponding buttons on Sega controller, and Button 3 is activated when both buttons are pressed. Had to play Nova Blast to test all three buttons. This would be worth it just to play the best home port of Burgertime, but it's great with almost every arcade port. Almost makes every game new again. Got to hand it to grips03 for some beautiful work!
Rick Reynolds #2 Posted June 27, 2013 Wow, that's really cool! I've been wondering about a market for alternate controllers for the Intellivision. I'm not a hardware guy, so I know I couldn't design anything. But this sounds like a very cool way of doing it - have the arcade-y controls handled by a modern controller with a pass-through for the keypad from the original. Very neat stuff! +Gemintronic #5 Posted August 29, 2013 I've always wanted to make an Intellivision game but the joystick has some serious flaws. I think there was another joystick adapter/mod recently but that required modding your INTV. Does this require anything done to your console?
+boxpressed #6 Posted August 29, 2013 Nope. You just need a Sears or an INTV II because the adapter plugs into port 1. Very elegant solution.

I'm making a new battery powered controller based on Neo Geo X controller if your interested. It does require Sears or Intv2.
