cimerians #1 Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) Thank heavens: http://kotaku.com/th...osoft-635426652 (he's not going back to EA. Unless of course this article proves false) Edited July 1, 2013 by cimerians
Necron99 #2 Posted July 1, 2013 figured that would happen...he's going to Zynga?
cimerians #3 Posted July 1, 2013 Probably, although EA it seems was interested according to the article. He belongs to either one. I just hope he ends up with Zynga. EA doesn't need more lice....it needs to get rid of them.
Algus #4 Posted July 1, 2013 Congratulations Captain Mattrick, you've just been reassigned from the Enterprise to the Excelsior

JamesD #7 Posted July 1, 2013 I think it was leave or wait around to be fired.
godslabrat #8 Posted July 1, 2013 I'm glad he's no longer an influence at Microsoft, but MS still has to show us that Mattrick's vision (and attitude) aren't the ultimate goal of the XBox One and subsequent MS systems. I really doubt he was the lone voice in the woods.
OldSchoolRetroGamer #9 Posted July 1, 2013 Good, I am sure he will be a better fit at Zynga, hey those games require a constant connection right?
KrazyKaiju #10 Posted July 1, 2013 Good riddance. Though, I'm sure MS still has plenty of slimy little weasels skulking about ready to take his place.

Jess Ragan #12 Posted July 1, 2013 Oh man, this is some Twilight Zone-level ironic punishment. He's gone from a company too big to fail to a company that can't do anything but. Couldn't happen to a better weasel-faced bastard, though.
Christophero Sly #13 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) That happened much sooner than I expected it to. I suspect JamesD is right. Had to be a case of leave or be fired. I wouldn't be surprised if this is prelude to MS essentially re-launching the Xbone in the coming months. toptenmaterial #14 Posted July 2, 2013 I don't know anything about Zynga, but why would any company be so hip to take him? The Xbox One reveal was a scandalous PR nightmare. Is that the type of employee that they want at the helm?
Jess Ragan #15 Posted July 2, 2013 Zynga is a pretty nasty company in its own right, and Don Mattrick would be right at home there. They take quality games, make rip-offs of them, and make a mint on the stolen ideas. They've also been buying out small mobile game developers, harvesting all their IP and firing their employees. In the land of scumbags, he'll be the king.

Is that the type of employee that they want at the helm? Supposedly he's turned around other companies and that's definitely what they need although I doubt they can be saved unless they can find new markets because their old ones are drying up. MagitekAngel #17 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) This will make it slightly easier for me to buy an Xbox One at some points because I can take solace in the face that Mattrick won't see any of that money. Edited July 2, 2013 by MagitekAngel

Mendon #20 Posted July 4, 2013 I'll try and look up the article... maybe it was Forbes or Gizmodo.... but they stated that MS is really in disarray right now with the entire DRM issue with Xbox One, the problem with Indie developers and their relationship with MS, and Mattrick's leaving catching them off-guard with no one in line to take his place. The article continued that they thought MS will eventually get back on track but that the rest of this year, including launch day, is not going to be an easy time at all for them and they will pay a heavy price for their miscues. +bennybingo #23 Posted July 4, 2013 Got a tidy little sum, too: http://allthingsd.co...the-first-year/ These companies are nuts! Are they so out of touch with reality, that they can't see his past transgressions...or does he just happen to possess some seriously incriminating photos of a high ranking member of the tech community? moycon #25 Posted July 5, 2013 Got a tidy little sum, too: So is he considered one of the 1%? I can only dream that when I changed jobs I was guaranteed millions of dollars... sadly I don't qualify! Wish I knew what it took to qualify. The way I see it. No man is worth millions to any company more-so when they are first hired but obviously I'm missing something. Maybe pissing off your customers, and ruining a name brand is the key to making millions? Again, I don't get it.
