Philflound #26 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) I wanted to mention that I covered in the initial post about the printer and dates on box tiny flaps. I'd like to get a release order for the boxes based on the printer date for each title and rearrange the box scans of each title in what I perceive to be the official releases. Problem is I don't have the majority of printer/dates from the tiny flaps. So I'm asking the collecting community to help me out. The easiest way would just be take a scan or photo of the tiny flap and tell me which box it refers to and I'll do the work. Nothing fancy as I'm not keeping the photo, just want to look at it. If you wish to identify it yourself, here is the way I read them. Bertco has a clock printed on the flap with their name, reading 1 through 12. This refers to the months. The number or numbers missing refers to which month the box was printed. On the side, the year is printed as a two digit number like 80 or 81. This is easy. Adpak San Francisco can be a little more confusing. as there are sometimes 2 sets of numbers (don't have sample in front of me, relying on memory). The 1 through 12 is the month. Again, the year is listed again as a two digit number. The other set of numbers I think is numbered 1 through 10, but I have no idea what this is used for. I have one Video Pinball box in front of me where numbers are missing from both sets. If I remember right, Adpak also sometimes has a date listed like 3-81, so it's easy to know when this was printed. There are a few other printers like Ivy Hill or SUS and I think a couple more that may or may not be printers. The dates on these are easy to identify if I remember right. I also don't remember if I mentioned, but I'm putting printers and dates for all companies if they have them, not just Atari. Sears has them, and Activision and Coleco also have them. Some 3rd party companies have no printer/dates, so I won't mention that in any listing in particular but may put it at the general description of the company. Thanks again and hopefully everything I do will be useful to many of you. Phil Edited August 9, 2013 by Philflound
Philflound #27 Posted August 16, 2013 Added or will add some more later release Atari boxes. Also will try and get back to work on Imagic and Parker Brothers this weekend. Been a little busy lately. Summer is almost over and will have to go back to substituting again for the 5th year in a row since it seems I'm not getting a full time teaching job... once again. It's ridiculous. My uncovered surgery bill portions have gone to collections. Oh, well. 100% charity should mean something, but they still want some money. Phil
Philflound #28 Posted November 11, 2013 I wanted to let everyone know I'm still here. My computer went kablooey and I have to restart the hard drive from day one. Problem is that I work on the website with Frontpage and I can't find my office 2000 cds. So I'll either have to wait, buy another office 2000, or try and use a new web design software. I've been working full time too, so that is taking up most of my time as I was teaching freshman algebra until about a month ago, and now I'm teaching 7th grade math. My father in law passed away at the beginning of October, so that threw a wrench in the engine too. Money has now become extremely tight and so my work has to come first. Ebay is now keeping me extremely busy on top of school because of the Christmas holiday. Sales are brisk, including several Atari games. I can't do any additional ebay items until I get my computer up and running again. Hate having to reinstall all that software. Also, I can't find my cd for my dsl, so I'm waiting on another to arrive in the mail or else I'd have been up and running already. I'll keep in touch. Probably not going to work on anything until Christmas break. Phil
