Look for an "awesome" looking mud buggies to reappear on ebay very soon. Talk about a depressing moment. When you get one of the "big ones" ... there's a sense of expectation in getting it. And then to receive it in a bubble envelope, dread sinks in. And, as you open, and see that crushed box. Disaster. Who sends ANYTHING that sells for over $100 in an ENVELOPE! Idiot ... Ignorama #5 Posted July 18, 2013 I got a lot from Italy packed in two huge envelopes which were taped together, strangest shipping "box" I ever saw. The lot contained Super Subra, CBS Turbo, Fathom and 9 other games (Popeye, Frogger, Shark Shark and so on). I was shocked when I saw the packaging, but I had luck, just the commons were destroyed, the rare games survived this torture. Another lot from the USA was sent an envelope, it contained White Water, Slam Dunk and Championship Tennis. especially White Water got some damage, but its still okay. I never send cardboard games in a envelope, its nearly impossible that they arrive undamaged and thats not the fault of the postal service. Since that I annoy every seller and ask him several times to use a stable shipping box.

Especially if you are a buyer in the states and the seller is shipping within the states. That's because all priority shipping boxes from the USPS are FREE!!! when shipping in the states. I sincerely doubt a buyer would scoff at a $6-7.00 shipping charge (cost of priority mail with FREE box mailer) for a $100.00 item. That's just my two cents. IntellivisionDude #7 Posted July 18, 2013 I have received at least 3 boxed Intellivision games in bubble mailers so i did have a legitimate reason to make that video. lol
Rev #8 Posted July 18, 2013 Yeah, it was the 160 mud buggies, the description said amazing condition, and it loked pretty decent in the pics, but it had no manual, i didnt even mind the price tag sticker on it, but this thing was flattened too much, i debated keeping it, but if im already spending 150, why not spend another 100 or so and get a nice condition one. If only he had used a box!!!! Arghhhhh......
JasonlikesINTV #9 Posted July 18, 2013 I pretty much ask every seller to ship in a box for any item over $10. For cheaper items, I ask before paying in case they want to charge more. Most people are really cool about it.
+grips03 #10 Posted July 18, 2013 now has anyone just put postage on the item itself, like stamps directly on the cart?
IntellivisionDude #11 Posted July 18, 2013 now has anyone just put postage on the item itself, like stamps directly on the cart? My friend told me he received a couple of system boxes and they sent the boxes just the way they were and they had priority stickers all over them. Atari_Bill #12 Posted July 18, 2013 The idiots at the Goodwill auction site sent out my recent winnings in a bubble envelope. I've tried twice to contact them about it and no response. I won't use ShopGoodwill again.
Ignorama #13 Posted July 18, 2013 now has anyone just put postage on the item itself, like stamps directly on the cart? I bought an boxed Nintendo 64 some years ago and thanks god I wrote to the seller that he should not use the box as a shipping box, because I am a collector and I want the box arrive in a nice condition. The seller used transparent plastic wrap to protect the box At least I had no ugly shipping label on my box, but this "re-sealed" N64 was pretty weird. Rev #14 Posted July 19, 2013 now has anyone just put postage on the item itself, like stamps directly on the cart? That's how I received my intv piano synthesizer......of course i left him a negative. I think it was bigbadsemenserpeant......
+intvsteve #15 Posted July 19, 2013 Owowowowowow OUCH! Long ago something like this happened to me w/ a Music Synthesizer ... maybe from Australia? I still haven't opened it probably 10 years later. It looks like it was floating in the bilge water of a transoceanic steamer. Really. Shipping / customs stickers all over it, large shreds of the original box imagery falling off. ::sniffle:: It's still decaying, still with a plastic strap around it. But even Priority Mail boxes may not be enough. My industrious USPS worker made my DK Arcade box fit into my mailbox "cubby". Curses on the trend to mass mailboxes! I miss the old one house, one mailbox setup from my younger days. Now, get off my lawn!
Games For Your Intellivision #16 Posted July 19, 2013 Are you saying that the USPS crushed my Elektronite box with your DK Arcade in it?
Certifiable #17 Posted July 19, 2013 Are you saying that the USPS crushed my Elektronite box with your DK Arcade in it? THAT...would take one very determined (or angry?) post office worker...your shipping boxes are very sturdy!
+intvsteve #18 Posted July 19, 2013 Are you saying that the USPS crushed my Elektronite box with your DK Arcade in it? It was the IntelligentVision box. Happily resolved just after it happened so now I have an extra somewhat squished DKA box.
JasonlikesINTV #19 Posted July 19, 2013 I just received a Mattel (M-Network) game today in a bubble envelope. It was obviously flattened. Prior to paying, I sent a message asking for a box and offered to pay more if necessary. The original shipping was $2.58, but the seller said, "not a problem!" and increased the shipping to $3.60. I'm not too mad since it's a common game and I won it for only $0.99 plus $3.60 shipping, but I think I'm going to ask for a refund for $1.
+BBWW #20 Posted July 19, 2013 Had two idiots do it to me this week when I asked for a box. One was FATHOM and the other was Hover Force. It just is stupid.
+boxpressed #21 Posted July 19, 2013 Sometimes I ask for box shipping before I pay. I send a message saying that I'm ready to pay but want assurance that the item will ship in a box. I agree with a previous poster that the best approach is to ask at least a day before the auction ends.

I miss the old one house, one mailbox setup from my younger days. Now, get off my lawn! my old mail man folded my vectrex overlays that were protected with sturdy cardboard in a bubbleope. the seller did nothing wrong as the cardboard was tough enough to protect them from the u.k. all the way to my house until my mailman folded it in half. this bastard was so lazy he left my packages he couldnt fold at the end of my driveway. the only package he ever left on my porch it was 98 degrees and he never knocked on my door and the package had huge print everywhere saying "vinyl records. do not leave in sun." as it was a special box made specifically for vinyl records. i was glad i got him transferred.
