ooper (AvP) Cartridge

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

can someone tell me what "ooper" is?

Is it a company who's selling emtpy cartridges?

Is it the name of a Software-Pirate?

The Game on the Cartridge is Alien Vs Predator...

thats weird. looks like part of a word like someone found a random adhesive label and cut it to fit the space on the cart.

it'd make more sense if they wrote some reference to the game on it.

Ok ^^

The answer is Atari runs out of AVP Labels, so they use "ooper" ^^

From today it's a collector's item :-D

Well, the only logical thing to do now that a label for a game called Ooper exists is that some homebrewer hurry up and develop a game with that title. That's how game development should work, making a game inspired by a name, label or artwork. :)

Is there any reason other than the label to believe this is a pirate cart? The cart could have lost its label and someone honestly thought any label was better than no label. Or maybe they just put it on to cover the screws. Maybe someone got drunk and wanted to make fun of Jag by tearing the label off of one of its most famous games and replacing it with a label that says "Pooper" but he was too trashed to size it correctly.
