NES USB controller

While in the electronics section of Fred Meyer, right near the Flashbacks and the Genesis 80-in-1 and all that stuff, they had some NES USB controllers for $20 each. I was wondering why, and if they would work, and is $20 a fair price.

Yes but not really. You can get this for 20 and use any nes controller.

Probably not worth $20. The "Retrobit" version sold on Think Geek for $30 + Shipping is available on eBay for under $18 shipped.

I bought a kit about 5 years ago that with a little soldering converts a real controller it was like $18 with shipping. It was more then worth it to get a real feel under emulation. I also think it is essential if your going to practice speed runs. You can load a save state of a specific part of the game you need to work on and do it over and over. Then there is no real adjustments needed when you do it on the real console

I just purchased a NES controller online and then bought a USB connector for it. I think the grand total of both things with shipping was $20.
