JamesD #1 Posted July 29, 2013 The mother load of ColecoVision/Adam parts. Not sure if the guy wants to sell or just unload the stuff, he hasn't really said. One problem, the guy who made the post appears to be from Belgium so you addicts from the US probably won't be able to just drive over and haul it off. https://www.facebook.com/groups/115531017844
NIAD #2 Posted July 29, 2013 WOW!!! That's a helluva lot of ColecoVision and ADAM systems. Looks like the guy cleaned out CBS Electronics when they dropped the systems in the mid-80's.

EXACTLY my thought Jim. That is one BIG pile of Expansion and stand alone ADAM's and parts.
+5-11under #4 Posted July 30, 2013 A pic or two for those of us who don't have a clue what our friends are up to?
NIAD #5 Posted July 30, 2013 Yeah, if all this was on our side of the big pond, it could really be worth the effort to acquire to resell. Hopefully there will be enough interest from the European community to salvage most of the systems instead of them ending up in a dump. It would be very interesting to find out how many ADAM systems are in working order. I would venture a guess of 75% (if they haven't been used since being manufactured) even though the operable life expentancy of the components Coleco used was only around 10 years.

ten-four #7 Posted July 30, 2013 Finally, I knew it. First time I saw a Evidence of the European CBS ADAM Computer. Never seen this before. It was announced but never released here in Denmark.
nanochess #8 Posted July 30, 2013 Surely various European users will want to get these boxed systems It would be interesting to know if all of these are PAL.
Gaztee #9 Posted July 30, 2013 Surely various European users will want to get these boxed systems It would be interesting to know if all of these are PAL. Not being on Facebook, have any more details come out about this lot?? I'd certainly be interested in a little trip to Belgium!
nanochess #10 Posted July 30, 2013 I've clicked to join the group, maybe I can convince the guy to register here in Atariage
JamesD #11 Posted July 30, 2013 It is the guy's dad's stash so I'm not sure if Atariage would be his thing. This is in Belgium, my father used to run a club for Adam users. When they got discontinued he bought up everything he could get his hands on. Has been occupying the attic since forever.
nanochess #12 Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) Ok. now I'm a member of the group and I've put a comment telling him to look here. I don't think he wants to have that forever in the attic when there are Coleco fans that could give these items a home Edited July 30, 2013 by nanochess
SKELETOR68 #13 Posted July 30, 2013 These have been sitting in the attic the whole time? Holy Christ, what a find! looking at the pics posted here, most of them are still in boxes! Nice, very nice.
JamesD #15 Posted July 31, 2013 I have heard plenty of stories about someone buying a TS-1000 or MC-10 when they were closed out but one person buying all that? Yikes! Imagine what that cost at the time. I'm wondering why he never did anything with it. Surely he would have tried to sell it through his group, newsletters, etc... But then maybe he sold a bunch of stuff and this is a small part of what he originally had.
san-d-2000 #16 Posted July 31, 2013 Hmm i live close to Belgium :-)
nanochess #17 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Well here is what he said: Pricing is simple, if I can find someone who wants to rent a truck and they go to the effort of getting it all out of the attic then it's all theirs. And the race starts! So who is living near Belgium? Obviously the interested ones have to register in FB and join the group to be able to message the owner to get the address. I'm not sure what kind of demand there will be for those in Europe. It may take you a while to get rid of this inventory once you have it, and you may have to involve other people who attend retrogaming conventions across Europe to get the word out that these attic finds are available for purchase. And you'll also have to test each unit to see if they still work properly (power switches may be all dried up and stiff, that kind of thing). It's great that you want to do this for the CV community, just be sure you understand what you're getting yourself into.
