Games For Your Intellivision #1 Posted July 29, 2013 Elektronite went to ConBravo! in Hamilton, Ontario Canada this last weekend. We showed Defender of the Crown in its current state with the demo Rom running on a real Intellivision. Shown here with some glitches on Youtube It got me thinking that some people might like to have a copy of this demo on cartridge. If you are interested in owning your own copy, I will sell them to you for $25 US. (circuit board only) with free shipping in North America. Shipping to outside of the lower 48 States is $3. Email me if interested at [email protected] You may pay with PayPal.
ebelhaki #2 Posted July 29, 2013 Is there still plans to finish the game?
Games For Your Intellivision #3 Posted July 29, 2013 Yes. Syd Bolton, of the PC Museum, an Amiga Programmer and big fan of the game is going to finish the game. We will be raising money via a kickstarter to pay the development costs. The kickstarter has been submitted to Cinemaware, and they will do it after their Wings kickstarter.
+TrekMD #4 Posted July 29, 2013 That looks fantastic! I'm sure the finished product will be very impressive!
Games For Your Intellivision #5 Posted July 30, 2013 Here are some more screen shots from the demo. Hopefully, with our new Elektronite utility, we will be able to maintain the quality of the graphics in the new areas of the game. dotc_demo.bmp
Ignorama #6 Posted July 30, 2013 Is it a playable Demo? Looks nice, I am very excited to see the complete game.
+grips03 #7 Posted July 30, 2013 this game is going to be awesome!
Games For Your Intellivision #8 Posted July 30, 2013 It is NOT a playable demo..... Please be sure of what you are ordering. It is cool seeing it on a REAL Intellivision, but it is little more than a novelty to show off to other people at this moment. I agree, that it is going to be great. I think Syd is warming up to start the programming. He knows the game well, so that bodes well for the completion of the game.
Ignorama #9 Posted July 30, 2013 Thanks for the answer. Its no problem that its not playable, its the typical Demo-car style I'll take definitely a copy, especially since its not sure if the game will be made or not. Hopefully Kickstarter becomes a success.
JasonlikesINTV #10 Posted July 30, 2013 I'll take definitely a copy, especially since its not sure if the game will be made or not. Im may be crazy, but this sounds out of character for the Ignorama I know. I thought you disliked sealed games, redundant variants, and non-playable demos. I know this would only qualify as the last one, but there is a theme that I have come to characterize you by: Ignorama is all about PLAYING the games. That being said, this could become somewhat collectible at some point, especially if the actual game is never released. Would be cooler if it had some kind of early prototype packaging, vs just a shell-less board, though. Willy should misprint some cart labels and throw them in with the board
Rev #11 Posted July 30, 2013 While we are at it, how about a demo of Rick Dangerous (dynamite)? There is a version out there somewhere but it is incomplete. Someone contact Arnauld! :-)
Games For Your Intellivision #12 Posted July 30, 2013 I 'could' send them in LTO shells, and you could print out this sticker with it.....but I'd have to charge 5 bucks more. However, the sticker and logo is likely to change. We are going to be using 'official' art. This is the mock up of the box so far..... Obviously, we have to make a stand alone version of the logo.
Ignorama #13 Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) @ Jason I dont really get what you mean. I collect variants myself, or do you mean something specific with "redundant variants"? And when did I said that I dont like unplayable demos? I am a bit confused ^^ But you mentioned the fact why I want to get this demo: Its something for my collection @ Games for your Intellivision I would like to buy it in a shell with the sticker (or just a pritable digital version if I get your right), so its no problem to pay 5 bucks more. Like I wrote in the mail: I could pay with Visa if its possible. Edited July 30, 2013 by Ignorama

+intvsteve #16 Posted July 30, 2013 Cool -- thanks GFYI. Do you have recommended / ideal dimensions for the sticker? (I'm @work and may want to swing by an office supply store on the way home. )

Rev #19 Posted July 31, 2013 Printing out own sticker shouldnt be too hard. We have the technology! The only problem is im sure cmart will be photoshopping about 4 or 5 different cart labels making his own variants, then coming in here to brag! :-)

Games For Your Intellivision #24 Posted July 31, 2013 Just to be clear, since it does not seem to have been understood. I DO NOT supply a sticker.
+wongojack #25 Posted July 31, 2013 A bit off topic, but has anyone ever "fixed" the Amiga version of DOTC? I'll wander over to lemonamiga and ask, but if someone who knows the game well is going to bring it to Inty (awesome) then I'd love to see an Amiga version with the gameplay elements that were left out put back in - like greek fire and sword fighting that isn't completely lame. Seems like there were some other things that were in the AST & 64 versions that weren't put into the Amiga version because it had to be released quickly. Some of the tournament options come to mind . . . Robin's raids . . . .
