Pixelboy #26 Posted August 7, 2013 Perhaps, but is there really any point? You may as well get the expansion #1 and play the actual 2600 ones, unless they were improved upon. Still I think it would be using up someones valuable time and effort that could be used on making a whole new game. Point well taken, but there's really never any point in doing an "adult" game on classic systems like the CV anyway. On the other hand, many Atari 2600 conversions would make nice little BasicVision projects, once BV becomes reality. And that includes the "adult" games in the 2600's library. carlsson #27 Posted August 7, 2013 I suppose every once in a while developers may need a project for laughs, one that nobody has strong demands about or expects to be fully polished, perhaps not even a candidate for a cartridge release. It can also be to try new methods. I'm not saying Strip Poker would be for laughs, but perhaps suggested conversions of 2600 adult titles would. gamecat80 #29 Posted August 9, 2013 Nice job. I'm not a big Lady Ga Ga fan, but I like me some good 8-bit chiptune music! In terms of "adult" games on the ColecoVision... 1) Conversions of the Mystique/Playaround games on the Atari 2600 (Custer's Revenge, Beat 'Em and Eat 'Em, etc.). Yes, these games are crap, but they would still be fun to have on the ColecoVision, just for the "Hey, look at that!" factor.
NIAD #30 Posted August 10, 2013 After listening to that tremendous rendition of Poker Face again, I have to say that it's too good not to be included in a game... so I'm changing my tune and hoping for a Strip Poker/Blackjack game with hopefully some other caino games thrown in to sweeten the pot. Maybe to really stir up interest, we can ask for help with the pictures used in the game from thw women of AtariAge to really make it a complete Homebrew product! newcoleco #31 Posted August 12, 2013 After 3 days of development, I've a real easy to play strip poker game for ColecoVision. Title screen with Poker Face music 5 sexy pictures to discover (taken from msx playhouse game) Cards are 7 and up only to increase the frequency of interesting hands Instead of involving money, if she wins she dresses back up Balanced AI adds challenge just enough to want to keep going and replay My beta-testers are saying "It works fine! Make cartridges with this version!"

jblenkle #33 Posted August 12, 2013 No offense intended, but your beta testers are advising a cartridge release after only three days or less of testing? Manoau2002 #34 Posted August 13, 2013 No offense intended, but your beta testers are advising a cartridge release after only three days or less of testing? I don't think this type of game would require the beta testing a game like lode runner or bugs n' bots would require. That being said I would wonder how well this would sell on its own. I think it would sell better if it was one of three games in an adult collection.
retroillucid #35 Posted August 13, 2013 No offense intended, but your beta testers are advising a cartridge release after only three days or less of testing? I don't think he's gonna make cartridge out of it right now My bet is, the beta testers mean to say that the game is that great and plays fine (yet) that he could make carts right now However, knowing how much love Daniel put into his games, I'm sure he will tweak the game here and there before making cartidges
jblenkle #36 Posted August 13, 2013 As someone else suggested, it would be cool to have a couple of other games in there too...although I"m not sure what you could incorporate... newcoleco #37 Posted August 13, 2013 Considering the size of the graphics (54KB) for ColecoVision Strip Poker game, data compression is a vital part of the project. After testing different options, the game fits in a normal 32KB cartridge, no problem. Time for some improvements here and there and that will be it. I will start another thread when ready to publish the game.
