Asmusr
It's really impressive what you have managed to squeeze out of the 9918A. Is the top third of the screen made with sprites only?
artrag
Yes, this is due to the very special VRAM layout that allows to have two pages of multicolor tiles preloaded in VRAM. With some restrictions, in the lower 2 thirds of the screen you can practically show 1024 tiles. Well, 512 tiles per bank, 256 per page obviously. This allows the scroll code to not update a single tile definition while moving the screen. Only the PNT is updated (i.e. the 2/3 of it, 512 bytes per frame). +OLD CS1
After Uridium, I'm on Uridium 2 now but on msx2 Very slick looking. With the new features in F18A v1.6 I expect to see some games like this on the TI, too.
+mizapf
Is MSX2 using a v9938 or v9958? Maybe this can be ported to Geneve or EVPC?

+retroclouds
Would be interesting to see how this would work out on the F18A, compared to the v9938.
artrag
from what I have understood of f18a you would get a bit less colors but faster scrolling

Asmusr
The last video of the wip, color bars are for test This is really impressive. It would be interesting to see what the F18A could make of the scrolling background, so if you want to share it I could try to import it into Magellan. artrag
Sure! All files are here: https://github.com/Maneldemo/Uridium-2-for-msx Look for toni_level.png for the last level image and for enemies.bmp for enemies The main ship is mship03_gold.png or mship03_silver.png (I'm using both files) Edited May 29, 2015 by artrag

Nick99
I was playing Titanium 1.0 on my Ti-99 with F18A v1.9, after a while it stopped to scroll and it somewhat scrambled the screen and the enemies became invisible. Is there a newer version of Titanium? Never mind, I had another copy on my FG99 and that worked like a charm.
