The Power Stick joysticks were made by Amiga before they made computers (and were subsequently gobbled up by Commodore). They made the Power Sticks for lots of consoles and are reasonably well-regarded, though some people with large hands my find them too small. Here's a neat ad from bitd...

Neat image!  If a guy owned some of those that would make a nice piece of wall art in their game room

Agreed! It just exudes the 80s!

Yep, this was posted by @OLD CS1 on Tuesday. No way the seller will get $1000 untested for parts, but at least he's accepting offers.

I’m reminded of using phone lines, to remotely operate equipment in a radio tower. A tone of a particular frequency is robust.

One chip on there is a PIC cpu, probably with its own clock.

The other chip, 74LS14, is used to translate a noisy signal into digital pulses for the cpu to count.

For only $1050 delivered (+ sales tax), you too can own a NEW untested, for parts only MBX unit!

Hehe. The seller is the same that the one who is trying to sell a TI-99/4 for... 2500 USD.

In fact, I wonder is the seller believes in Santa Claus or if he lives in Disneyland.

If someone pays that much for it, good for the seller. The only thing that makes it unique is the actual diskette (which may or may not even be good anymore) & that sticker in the lower left of the package. Otherwise, it's the same grey box packaging Infocom used for all their titles to standardize sizing for computer stores. You can play this game on any platform, including the TI, through emulation or make your own physical disk from an image & find the packaging scans online quite easily. But hey, if you've got the money & think it's worth it, you'll make the seller quite happy, & quite possibly yourself for a few hours.

Anyone know if boxes from the 1984 period ever contained the Zorkmid? There's no photo of one here, or it might be worth a lot of money.
