No way the seller will get $1000 untested for parts, but at least he's accepting offers.

Omega-TI
I have no clue what it is. Is it part of a radar detector or is for particle analysis?

One chip on there is a PIC cpu, probably with its own clock. The other chip, 74LS14, is used to translate a noisy signal into digital pulses for the cpu to count. Omega-TI
The best thing about this auction (for me) was the free offering of some very nice photos of a "New-In-Box" MBX system that I could use to create a PDF. Hehe. The seller is the same that the one who is trying to sell a TI-99/4 for... 2500 USD. In fact, I wonder is the seller believes in Santa Claus or if he lives in Disneyland. 1 1

Agreed, unless it also comes with the "whole package", 32K, RPi, 3D printed case, LCD display and SD card, then it would be a fair price. majestyx
If someone pays that much for it, good for the seller. The only thing that makes it unique is the actual diskette (which may or may not even be good anymore) & that sticker in the lower left of the package. Otherwise, it's the same grey box packaging Infocom used for all their titles to standardize sizing for computer stores. You can play this game on any platform, including the TI, through emulation or make your own physical disk from an image & find the packaging scans online quite easily. But hey, if you've got the money & think it's worth it, you'll make the seller quite happy, & quite possibly yourself for a few hours.

Omega-TI
I consider myself a cheap bastard "thrifty", so when it comes to phones, I prefer a more open environment where everything is not controlled by one monolithic company, because in the end it all comes down to the cost/benefit ratio for me, and competition...
