Following an idea by Kevan I saw in the TI99/4A forum, I decided to start this poll so all Colecovision fans can vote for his/her favorite 2012 Colecovision game and of course comment your decision here.

The number of released games in 2012 rise up to the astounding number of 24 new games! :o (please correct me if I'm wrong)

In the TI99/4A forum they are going to send a small trophy or plaque to the author of the winning game. That's an interesting idea.

Anyway, I'm only starting the poll, if someone or a group wants to give a kind of prize they're free to take their decision :)

As only one game can be voted, votes aren't public.

Enjoy it!

EDIT: I'll keep it open until Sep/21/2013 if I can find out how to close it :D

Unfortunately I am biased and chose Lock 'n Chase because I had a childhood addiction to the intellivision version.

Otherwise I really love Side Trak as well.

You should have done at least these categories :

- best graphics

- best music

- best game

...

:)

That's an amazing idea! :)

I've started another poll with the two alternate categories http://atariage.com/...hicssounds-was/

And I should start collecting info of 2013 games, it was pretty hard to re-read all these Atariage topics for 2012 :D

That is one awesome list of releases for the year 2012. It pains me to only pick one seeing as there are so many that are deserving of top-billing, so I will endeavor to persevere and pick one.

Are any of these available freely as a ROM download? (With the permission of the author of course.)

Only A.E. so far. All the rest are just a little too new, but in a year or two may see a rom release.

Wow! Look at the size of that list! Between this and the Intellivision homebrews of 2012 and 2013, no wonder I have to keep buying more shelving units! :)

Mario Bros. shouldn't count because that was a second run.

I don't know if it should count or not but I thought it was a second run with update in version meaning things were added to make it closer to arcade.

I voted Princess Quest!...

But for next year you should do more categories.

32K games without SGM and SGM game with megaroms.... otherwise it is not fair! :_(

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Unfortunately it's too late to remove it from the poll, now I cannot edit it.

I agree, MB was released in 2009

Indeed, but it stands as one of the best CV Homebrews of all time and will to the end of days Loved the game in the arcades, love it on the NES and love it even more on my CV and ADAM systems.

Thanks, I appreciate. :)

MB was a huge game to make, at least for me

The first game I started working on graphics was Mr. Chin.... Wich was kind of simple

There were not alot of graphics and sprites for Mr.Chin

But, when I started working on graphics, I remember being desperate!

There were SO MUCH to do and I had to considered the graphic limitation of the CV

I was playing MB on my MAME at the same time working on graphics, and timing

what I mean is, the code was not ripped off directly from the Arcade version, we had to time everything according to the Arcade version

kind of similar to what Coleco did when they ported Arcade games back in early 80's

But today, is ALOT MORE easy since we hve access to emulator for screenshots etc...

Anyway, later Luc (Pixelboy) did helped me to figure it out how to encoded all graphics properly so the programmer would not be confused

Luc also drew some of the graphics and most of the Mario (Luigi) was done by him

Mike, the programmer did an awesome job on programming MB to the CV by making his very own code

Like I said, he did not ripped any code from the Arcade version

We were testing MB very secretly actually

My younger brother and I spent over 75 hours of beta testing on it

My brother's friend also did test it for over 30 hours

All in all, we were officially 3 guys working on it plus the beta testers

Pretty happy of the result actually

I was wondering why the player sprites was so nicer than the rest of the sprites... i know now. ;) (just kidding!)

Actually, I did the enemy sprites as well.

I spent a great deal of time drawing all the turtle animation frames, in particular.
