Price Check: Atari ST Toadfile

Recommended Posts

I always try to do my own research and not bother everyone, but I can't seem to find anything around as to any value that this thing has. It's untested as I don't have an Atari ST. When plugged in, it hums to life, but could be dead for all I know. Has an Advantage-Plus ST card inside as well.

Any value?

Toad was a well known ST vendor out of Maryland. They may still have Toad-Net running and you can find it through the web. You basically have the HD box Toad made for the ST. Without knowing if it works and what HD is in it its hard to put a price on it. There are SD card solutions which are much better than the HD enclosure you have.

I purchased one of these about four years ago on here for $25 shipped. The only thing different is it was missing the plastic drive bay covers that say ToadFile.

The picture is cut off on the right. It looks like a Seagate ST-296N which according to my Google search is an 85MB hard drive. It's good that the host adapter is the ICD Advantage Plus which is the later version of their SCSI-ACSI host adapter and it has a clock. I don't know how much they are worth now. You can always eBay it and see what people are willing to pay.
