Scooter83 #1 Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) I have one in my personal collection and getting a second one ( with the SN tag but seems to have no SN) . Probably wore off But I figure we should compile a list of serial numbers and cart stamps to keep track who has an early one and who has a later issue tablet. SN Made In Label Cart Stamp Belongs To 404B Japan Label 483 Scooter83 410B Japan Label 054 Adam242 417B Japan Label ??? adam242 #2 Posted August 30, 2013 Mine says Serial number 410B, Made in Japan - and the AtariArtist cart is stamped "R 05 4". I haven't even thought about this thing in a long time, but I enjoyed it in the 80s.

adam242 #4 Posted August 30, 2013 Adam Im willing to bet that you got yours maybe from someone in Colorado at one point? I bought it second-hand from another guy here in Detroit. No idea where he got it.
Magic Knight #5 Posted August 30, 2013 OK - mine is 417B - Japan also. (no cart stamp i can see) I expect this to represent more of a batch number than an actual individual serial number?
Scooter83 #6 Posted August 31, 2013 The one I ordered a few nights ago i just an email said 404B so im thinking batch also. Strange to put a batch number were a SN would be. and that Atari labeled every hardware item witha SN. ( Systems disk drives, cassette drives, some trackball controllers, 850 interfaces) It strikes me odd that they didnt on these touch tablets.
kenjennings #7 Posted August 31, 2013 Are the touch tablets that rare? I have two. at the moment in boxes somewhere. The first one I bought in the 80s came from an Atari dealer and it included a white plastic stylus with an orange ball at the one end instead of the wired black stylus. I saw that substitution frequently. I bought another tablet last year from MyAtari that came with everything including the wired stylus. Does anyone know what the deal was with the plastic stick replacing the stylus? Atari ran out? Tend to be defective?
Scooter83 #8 Posted August 31, 2013 Not sure why they changed , maybe it was to save money. I think they are maybe uncommon but not rare ( the tablets ). I just wanted to do a serial number roll call like they do with other atari brand items. Research to see if by SN and the stamp on the cart labels you can kinda track down when your tablet was made. But its looking like batches not SNs.
Retro Rogue #9 Posted January 4, 2015 Just revisiting this because after someone asked me about the serial numbering I noticed the same numbers on multiple units. I'm thinking those are lot numbers vs. individual serial numbers. Case in point, you list the one from the Atari Museum as 417B. That's the same serial number that's on this one here: http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ve/MLV-432095660-atari-touch-tablet-cx77-_JM As well as the one that the Computer History Museum has in it's archive: http://www.computerhistory.org/collections/catalog/102628706 This person just picked up one with the same serial as well: https://www.facebook.com/groups/atariage/permalink/10152888865580255/
