I have an Atari ST car

Recommended Posts

This didn't dawn on me until recently, but I thought visitors to the ST forum would appreciate this. :)

Nice but you should have ET sitting in a basket on the front of the bike.

LOL, funny. I wonder if I can get in trouble for modifying the plate. :)

I remember seeing a light grey Nissan XE car, and it reminded me of a certain 8-bit computer... ;)

I play Atari in the car..

I could do that, it has a large screen in the center console and there are A/V input jacks. :)

Here is my plate I've drive around Silicon Valley for a few years.
I get no looks, honks, beeps, under the breath comments, or fingers !?!

I do not think anyone here can read binary anymore !!!!!

Nice!

This reminds me of what was kind of a strange parallel with Atari's branding in the late 80's/early-90's. Nissan market its small pickup trucks as XE and ST, at the same time that Atari marketed its computers as such.

Weird coincidence? Certainly!

Like that one "Deep thought of the day" on my BBS says:

There are 10 types of people in the world - those who

understand binary and those who don't... :)

well, considering that most school children from the 90's onwards have problems counting in DECIMAL, the chances of them knowing let alone counting in binary (or hexadecimal) are about as remote as you or I winning the lottery jackpot

Oh SO true.

One day, I went and parked at Google HQ. It is across the street from a good restaurant that I was to meet some fiends for lunch.

I got a good spot near their main utterance. This was a couple months ago. I got there about ½ hour early on purpose.

Just for fun I thought I just lean against my car and play one my on phone, and see if anyone would ask me about my license plate. I glanced at each person or group that entered the building.

I would say about 40 people pasted me. Most looked 25 years old or less. Only one looked near the age that they might know what an Atari 800 is. Not one looked at it, nor ask a question, or even looked at me funny!!!!??!!!???

These kids have no personal environmentally awareness. Let along notice an odd license plate. I could have been wearing the large bunny suit from Star Trek TOS – Shore Leave and I doubt they would have even looked up from their phones. None would understand what I was wearing!!!

Can anyone here translate my plate?

Depends. Did you mean for the first characater to be an "I" or a "1"?

If it's an "I", then I'd go with "I-5"?

If it's a "1", then it's "69"...one of my favorite numbers. :)

I've had one of these on my car for a long time. I've been asked a few times what it means.

The "Power Without The Price" bit or "Atari"? Makes me feel old knowing there's a large chunk of the population out there that really has no direct experience with anything "Atari", especially the Atari of old!

Yep. I got one on my car too! It's still there. No one has asked me about it though...
