asteroids repair need help

Recommended Posts

hello new to this forum

i have a cocktail table asteroids worked great up until last week all original with a very bright monitor no burn in , i think it spent most its life unplugged... when it stopped working last week .. the players buttons keept flashing so i checked the capacitors and noticed both r-100 and r101 were burnt. i replaced the resistors with jumpers, like they said to do when i googled it .. now the game powers up i can play i can see the ship the ufo and the bullets really well. bright like normal but the asteroids were very light i could barely see them.

i unplugged and removed the board went through the fuses and all the connectors looked for cracked traces.. all good i put it back together now i cant see anything on the screen but i can play the game..

so what the problem???

regards Ned

That's a new problem to me, but I would suggest you check the monitor itself. I've been having a little trouble with my Lunar Lander cabinet lately.. and it uses the same X-Y type monitor as Asteroids(many of the LL uprights were converted over to Asteroids via a kit).I'm going to suggest that you check the connections, first and foremost. ALL of them.
