Rockwell R6532 RIOT chip compatible in the atari 2600, used in commie disk drives and various other systems, new old stock.

 

I bought a known to be dead 2600 JR from ataribian, and got no bit tickling between the rom and the cpu, which left the RIOT chip and CPU suspect, bought this chip NOS with no effect, bought a 6507 CPU NOS and now saved an VCS from the dump.

 

normally its a UM6532, but the R6532 is identical, tested and working fine in my JR, chip was brand new except some minor oxidation on the pins. Never used DIP package IC's have their legs spread out, so in order to fit it into my sockets the legs have been bent in a little to fit, just like any other brand new IC, meaning one less touchy subject for you to deal with.

 

only powered on twice, once to see if my original RIOT chip was the issue and once again to confirm functionality within the 2600. Voltage was applied though a clean regulated current limited lab power supply and a brand new 7805 regulator, which means with ideal conditions.
