Trying to hook up a bunch of systems to a Flat Screen

Recommended Posts

So far my issue is well its not working at all. Even going back to my old TV that it was working on isnt working either. I dont know why . The coaxle connections are correct everything is on channel 3 or 4 for some systems just not working. Any thoughts on what im doing wrong?

Use composite cables, either natively or via modding. Or failing that, try an RF->RCA adapter.

The Genesis has a composite cable so doesn't need a mod, I'd recommend looking into that. The 2600 and 520 are strange beasts and most likely are the cause of the problem. The 5200's use a strange box and 2600 sends a lower power signal.

So assuming you are making a long chain of RF units I'd say try it in this order,

Nintendo > Sega > 5200 > 2600

If that fails reverse it. My logic being that the Nintendo and Sega send a better signal and have better boxes so let them be as close to the TV, they should pass the signal on well enough to allow the Atari units in where I'm not convinced how well it works the other way. for the record my brother uses a SNES and 2600 and it works like that. The 2600 is plugged in after the SNES.

Also remember that the 2600 (possibly 5200 as well, I can't recall) don't conform to the normal 3-4 channel setting. Instead it uses a-b which is really 2-3.
