Invader_dag #26 Posted March 9, 2003 well.. i guess thats somewhat true... but it does have PSO!!! Nintendo said they are going to implement online capabilities to Animal crossing 2(That is whats it called right?? not animal forest anymore??) and possibly Mario Kart GC. But i agree with Miyamoto San, Mario Kart is btter experianced with 3 friends sitting there playing with you. Cause how are you supposed beat the crap out of each when the hit you with that turtle shell that costs you the race??

Kasenoke #28 Posted March 9, 2003 Same here. Nintendo's best system was their first, they took the path of utter crap somewhere around N64. If you really think so, then you need to see the Cube. Seriously. They've come back full circle and now have the BEST console on the market. Well, I checked out the Cube when it first came out. I thought, "Maybe they'll redeem themselves." However, I was treated to Pikmin, a crappy Star Wars game, and Luigi's Mansion. I havent checked it out since. Now, I will admit, Animal Crossing looks cool, and Metroid Prime could be nice, yet I dont know...
Kasenoke #29 Posted March 9, 2003 I would also like to add that as of now, I have no special liking to any of the new systems, although I lean a little toward X-box. However, that is a hard choice, because I have always been a Mac-Man myself. In fact, Im typing this on my iMac right now. Hell, I still have my old Apple IIe. I really hope Apple comes out with a gaming system, if that console would be like their computers, they'd beat the pants off of their competitors! Invader_dag #30 Posted March 9, 2003 a crappy star wars game?? Rouge Leader was the best SW game to come along a console in a logn time!! And thought i`m not crazy about Luigi's Mansion, it is still fun. I`ve never played PikMin though. But Metroid Prime warrants the purchase by it`s self
Kasenoke #31 Posted March 9, 2003 a crappy star wars game?? Rouge Leader was the best SW game to come along a console in a logn time!! Well, maybe. But for now, I'll stick with Atari Star Wars.
MegaManFan #32 Posted March 9, 2003 Oh........I wasn't even thinking of the PS2 And the Wavebird is good, but the overall design of the Cubes controllers are awkward big time. And yes it is a dedicated console, but all of them are if you just play games on them I just really find the Cubes game lineup extremely boring and so limited to certain types of games - which is cool if you like those certain games but I need a little more than those. Finally, Nintendos complete lack of online support is not too cool. At this point, Nintendo seems to just wanna repeat the lackluster success of the N64 and that is not a good idea I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on that note. I know I'm a Nintendo junkie, but I never thought the N64 was a failure to begin with. People have chastized Nintendo for sticking with a cartridge based system but in my view this made it the last truly "classic" console, one that I think will still be working years and years down the road when the disc spinning systems have all bit the dust. Furthermore the graphics may look dated compared to today's consoles, but so does Super NES compared to N64, and so does NES compared to Super NES, and so on. I think the Cube was the quantum leap ahead everybody expected Nintendo to make and they've succeeded brilliantly - sharp vivid graphics, a proprietary disc format that's smaller AND faster loading, and even the console itself is visually appealing to look at. The launch lineup wasn't that impressive, but keep in mind the same could be said of PS2 when it first came out, and now it's the industry leader. And with the amount of periphreals and expansion upgrades the GameCube supports (including soon an adaptor to let you play +ANY+ GameBoy game ever made including GBA) they are definitely not treating the system like they expect "lackluster success." To me, they are gunning for the top and doing everything they can to impress me in the process; and I wholeheartedly approve. Believe me, I'm not trying to bash the GC. I see that most of the peeps on AA highly respect it and tout it as being spectacular and has the most to offer, but honestly, it lacks more than it has right now. I hope it will change, but truthfully, I don't care. I've been known to buy a system for just 1 game Just wanted to have a nice chat with someone that doesn't get irate at others opinions. You are the man MMF *heh* I wouldn't say I'm the man, but I can definitely have a conversation about consoles without having a bone up my butt about them, "OMG X-BOX RULEZ CUBE SUX" and other nonsense like that. As you said yourself every console has strengths and weaknesses, and that's what's great about having three major systems on the market right now - there's something for everybody. AtariDude #33 Posted March 11, 2003 hmm..what if Infogrames bought Sega? Now Sega and Atari would be united, sort of. And given the choice between Nintendo buying Sega or Microsoft buying Sega, I rather have Nintendo buy them.
