How to take off The Voice Module on Magnavox Odyssey 2

Recommended Posts

So I have the voice module for my Odyssey 2 and I want to take it off and put it on my other Odyssey 2 that I modded for AV.

I took it off before but now it is stuck somehow? I hear it's one of those peripheral's that you put on once and never take off...sorta like the sega cd and jaguar cd's.

I looked online and couldn't find any guide to take them off with out damaging them...thanks for any help!

Carefully pull it off... ;-)

Seriously, I know mine was tricky when I first pulled it off, but I eventually removed it without breaking it...

Unfortunately, it's been a while.. I'm guessing I grabbed from the sides and lifted one side a bit, then the other...

Sega CDs are hard to remove? Preposterous.

Usually if a PCB connector is hard to pull apart, just carefully work one side, then the other, sort of like how you "walk" something really heavy across the floor.

I got no problems removing mine from my Videopac (the shells are the same). The best way I can see is to push from under it, from the back, one side then another.

Because of the odd shape and the power swich hole being super tight, you will have difficulties if you try to pull it straight up or grab it from the front part.

I've never experienced my Voice module getting stuck to the console.. Very strange!

I've owned 3 different Voice modules and had them on 4 different O2 consoles.

I can relate to it being extremely difficult to pull off, but there's really no special way of doing it. Generally speaking, you probably won't break it.
