JamesD #26 Posted September 17, 2013 Hell, call it the XBONE and put a skull and crossbones on it. Or call a custom controller with a skull and crossbones the XBONE. Frankly, they should call it XBOXGasm or the XBOX 69 or XBOX 666 or something like that just for all the free publicity. Then change the name right before the launch. AAirhart #27 Posted September 17, 2013 The real question is... How many will fail immediately after release? How many will fail after a year? How long until they admit and fix design issues? How many players will be blamed by support for overuse?
toptenmaterial #28 Posted September 17, 2013 Before deciding on a new brand name, companies should first hire a team of eight-year-old boys to see how many dirty jokes they can make out of it. If the name can escape their scrutiny without being turned into a cheeky pun, it will probably also survive the scrutiny of bloggers and journalists, who often seem to have a lot in common with a bunch of eight-year-olds. Wasn't Pac-Man originally going to be called Puck-Man?
+FujiSkunk #29 Posted September 17, 2013 Wasn't Pac-Man originally going to be called Puck-Man? Not "going to be," it actually was Puck-Man when first released in Japan. Midway changed the name when importing the game, for obvious reasons.

cimerians #31 Posted September 17, 2013 Was Hanglyman a clone or hack or something?
+FujiSkunk #32 Posted September 18, 2013 Was Hanglyman a clone or hack or something? A little bit of both. The company that released Hanglyman hacked its code from Pac-Man, without permission. This happened a lot to successful arcade games, especially in the early '80s, but Hanglyman was just different enough that it became famous. Interestingly enough, another famous unauthorized hack of Pac-Man was... Ms. Pac-Man.
Tickled_Pink #33 Posted September 18, 2013 Maybe they should call it anything but the One. HTC might have something to say about it soon.
