Oh okay, sorry I did not realise that (I probably can find about this project in the Dutch Tijdingen magazines of year 198x's)

(Project of "Regio Zeeland" / Ton Brouwer / Ton Damen).

I thought it was for the Mechatronic 80 column card (not sure what chip is inside here, I have the PDF manual)

9938 like the geneve and the avpc i believe as well

The Mechatronics Mouse is a separate device that works via the joystick port of the TI-99/4A. The mouse connected to the Geneve was attached to the v9938 and was an Atari-style mouse, I think.

[Just read in Wikipedia - yes, the input bus for mouse and lightpen was dropped for the 9958]

Light pens have pretty much vanished from the consumer market/world.

1) They never really gained a viable consumer level.

2) Programs that used the technology were few and limited.

In todays world, time marched on,

3) People have touchscreen technology.

But what really sucks for the classic computer hobbyist that wants to use one...

4) They only work with CRT's.... LCD and LED technology in not compatible.

seems to be some nice extensions vial CALL-commands. have to check that if my Mechatroni80 is running :)

I pulled the doc from Globeron´s DSK-File, and made a PDF from that

If anybody wants to have the english version, pls let me know, I can make it

ah yes, understand. Sorry, didn´t realize that at all.

I wanted to "press" all of it (F18A, 80COL, EGA) into the list.

Should I post more 80col-only-things here if I find them ? Don´t want to "dump" the thread :)

(I also could delete the posts, really no prob, just let me know)

xXx

PS arrrhhg I see the title now: F18A - tralala - NOW I understand :) F18A only.

I better delete the posts, not to confuse people ?

Naw, no reason to nuke your posts, if it were me, I'd just leave it as, but edit the messages by adding a link to a NEW THREAD.

There are still users of 9938 and 9958 based hardware. I think it would be nice for them to have a place to refer to when they are trying to find specific programs as well.

Bar Code Readers took the place of the Light Pen as it could do more and a wider range of uses.

A downloadable PDF of all currently known programs that exploit the extended functions of F18A is attached to this message.

Schmitzi is doing such a great job of documenting everything for all the various hardware items that I no longer feel the need to continue with this project.

Thanks Schmitzi, this is one less thing on my plate!
