I'd like to make or buy a shell for the original wii that makes the gc side of things front and center, not the disc drive. Ie: make it look like a gamecube.

 

The only reason my wiimotes are even turned on anymore is to turn on the system. Otherwise the system is a virtual console machine first, and gamecube second.

 

I didn't know if anyone has done this before. And if so if anyone has pictures, or if its purchasable a link. If not, does anyone know how I'd go about this? I'm good at working with plastics and metal, but I can't do electrical well at all. So any ideas on how to achieve this while making all the ports and buttons functional would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have no idea what all would be involved, but it would be neat to see something that looks like a GameCube, that was really a modded Wii. Can't help you with info on it, but I think it's a nice idea. Maybe get Ben Heck on it. lol
