gameofyou #1 Posted September 21, 2013 I don't know if this is the correct forum for this question, but is there a source for cartridge shells (for 2600, Jaguar, ...ect)? Are all the homebrews sold on the Atari Store using used cartridge shells, or is someone making new ones? I'm just curious, because with the price of 3D printers really coming down, that could be a possible way of creating some new shells (in various colors, even). Necron99 #2 Posted September 21, 2013 not sure about the Jaguar stuff but I know the AA uses used cart shells for 2600 stuff. every so often Al posts here asking for them. I believe 3D Printing has been tried but it's too pricey and from what I understand, the quality isn't nearly as good. (I could be wrong, I'll let the experts chime in now)
WildBillTX #3 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Here's someone using a 3D printer to make an 2600 cartridge. Neat idea, but it took him 2 1/2 hours to make it. I've seen new C64, NES and SNES shells being sold, but nothing yet for the 2600. Edited November 27, 2013 by WildBillTX
