theironmango
Hey guys I recently just got a copy of panzer dragoon 1 and for some reason the game doesn't start up. It brings me to the audio cd menu and the system senses that there are 16 tracks of music but there is no start application option like with all the other games. The problem is not my saturn since all other games run perfectly. The disc doesn't have any visible scratches. Any help wouuld be appreciated. thanks
Seob
Try tilting the saturn and see if it will read then. I have a saturn that will shutdown itself after 5 min of playing because of heat building up. Playing it with the top part of the case off, it will not shutdown. theironmango
Which direction and how far should I tilt the saturn? Can't that make the laser damage the discs? thanks
Tales from the Game Room
Sometimes the Saturn will in fact go to the start menu regardless if there is a game in the drive or not. I have had this problem from time to time. Usually rebooting the game system with the game disc inside will alleviate this... Good luck. Seob
Tilt it by lifting the rightside up. If you don't move to fasg, it won't hurt the disc. The saturn isn't as bad constructed as the xbox360.

It is just the 1.
goldenegg
Is the game you got the proper region for your console?
DemonoidTentacle
My first thought was that they lens needed cleaning, but I'm sure that comes up with a read error instead. Sounds to me like it's either the wrong region, or the disc is a pirate.
Skarrj
Region lock
theironmango
It says ntsc on the back of the box
Tempest
It's my old disc. I played it just fine on my Saturn, so it's not a region issue. I have no idea what happened to it honestly, it worked fine when I played it about 5 years ago.
Skarrj
This crap happens every now and then. I have an xbox cod black ops that is prestine..will not play in my xbox but plays in my friends.
Atariboy
Optical disc drives can be picky and have quirks at times, so I'm sure it's what Skarrj says. For instance I have a pristine copy of Raiden Project that doesn't play on my PSOne that has no issues with any of my other games. But it plays just fine in my slim PS2's and on my PS3. For whatever reason, this disc and the optical drive in your Saturn just aren't cooperating. Something is ever so slightly off somewhere that is causing a problem with this particular disc. A different Saturn would probably play it just fine. Edited September 22, 2013 by Atariboy
theironmango
I see, i think I'm just gonna get a replacement disc for the game since its much cheaper than a new saturn and its the only game that doesn't work. Thanks for the responses though everyone!
Atariboy
At least it wasn't Panzer Dragoon Saga. That's what I thought the game in question was until just now when I opened the thread up again.

That would have been painful.....almost as painful as the going price

DemonoidTentacle
I too thought the title said "Saga". At first I was all "Oh shit." Then I was all "Oh well."
Tempest
Well if I was going to have one Saturn game go bad, better it was my PD1 than PDS.
Hatta
Panzer Dragoon Saga may be more valuable, but Panzer Dragoon is more fun.
