Hello,
I saw this ad on craigslist, http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/atq/4102410867.html it lists a Ti-99/4a with expansion chassis, monitor, keyboard(op's words), mouse, paddles, software(not sure what software). I've messaged the poster, asking for pictures, but wanted to ask this here. Assuming it actually comes with all that and is in good shape, what is the price I should expect to pay?

The computer itself isn't worth much ... probably $30 assuming it works and has all of the necessary cords. From there, it's murky as to what he has.

If it's a TI monitor (such as the PHA4100A), they sell typically for well over 100 on their own (let's say $100). Generic monitor, I wouldn't pay anything for. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=ti-99+expansion&_sop=10&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=0&_sticky=1&_from=R40&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5049&LH_Complete=1&_sc=1&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=ti-99+monitor&_sacat=0

If he's referring to the Expansion Peripheral (chassis?) then those sell typically for around $100 as well working, with a disk drive or two. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=ti-99+expansion&_sop=10&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=0&_sticky=1&_from=R40&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5049&LH_Complete=1&_sc=1&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=ti-99+expansion+peripheral&_sacat=0

All depending on some of the above, and especially the software, it could really be worth anything from $50 to $200 (or more with software) based on what he actually has.

Hope that helps!

I'm curious as to what the seller thinks the "mouse" on this is.

If this is local to you, see if the seller is willing to let you test it. I've never bought a PEB (what I'm assuming the seller is calling the "expansion chassis") that didn't have issues.

That being said, I've bought two "parts" PEB's with a floppy drive, drive controller, flexcable card and 32K expansion card for $80-$100 in the last six months or so. I used the parts from those, including another PEB that I bought earlier this year that had multiple issues and a couple cards I bought from an AtariAge member, to make two fully functioning PEB's.

Assuming everything worked, the software wasn't just ten copies of TI Invaders and Tombstone City and was in good condition, I'd pay $250-$275 for everything.

Heh ... I was thinking the same thing.

A mouse that made its way into the "expansion chassis" and never left would be my guess. ;)
