crusherbad64
I've been thinking about getting a working Jaguar CD, but from what I've seen, the prices are all over the place. What is a good price for one?
RJ
The lowest.
TXG/MNX
Just check ebay but try to get a new one instead of used.

+thegoldenband
Best Electronics has them for $199 new without an outer box (but with all the other stuff that came with it), and $149 for a bare reconditioned unit. I don't know how competitive that price is, but you surely don't want to pay any more than that.
JagChris
Try to get a working one 'new' is no guarantee of that! CJ's Jag drives just like screwin' with him.
crusherbad64
Thanks everyone! I don't care about complete in box or anything like that. The one for $150 for the reconditioned unit is very tempted. I ordered a two in one plug for the jag and jag CD a while ago so not having a power supply is no big deal for me. I might consider best electronics for one.
TXG/MNX
I got several CD players I don't know what I did pay in the past, only I know I did buy them all new in box (and the work fine) , only the jaguar developers cdrom didn't come with a box. I still need a few other cd-roms for my other jaguars that are laying around here... but need to save my money now for other stuff... You never have enough jaguar or jag-cd Edited October 4, 2013 by TXG/MNX

crash
It is worth mentioning that if you end up with a JaguarCD that spins up but can't read disks, the laser can be replaced for around $25. I had to do both of mine. Even a non-functional is good for parts too.
crusherbad64
Feel free to send me a spare Jaguar CD if you are not using one lol.

JagChris
By the way, I checked out Best Electronics website, how do yo buy stuff on there? The website is from the 1990's. So is this Jaguar. What's your point?
crash
You can call or email. Remember that they have thousands of items not listed on the site, so just ask if there is any part you may need. I broke the clasp on my Jaguar CD, so it would not stay closed and wouldn't work. I had resigned to using it for spare parts if my other one died. Then, after finding out about Best Electronic's unpublished inventory, I asked and they had the part in stock for a couple bucks. I even got a power jack and a cartridge door switch for my 1979 Atari 800. B&C Computervisions aka myatari.com is the other good source for Atari parts and products. Jagosaurus
By the way, I checked out Best Electronics website, how do yo buy stuff on there? The website is from the 1990's. There's an Email address listed. The sales guy (Bill IIRC) will shoot you a quote/invoice & there's a PayPal link I think in the Email body. They're great with customer service. I placed a $100+ order from them 2 yrs ago, was packed great, & arrived safe. Good people. If all else fails, call him up.
Gunstar
The number to order via phone call is 408.243.6950 Hours when someone will actually answer and you can place an order are from 1PM Pacific standard time to somewhere between 7 and 9PM PST. IIRC.
Gunstar
So is this Jaguar. What's your point? You are actually in the Twilight Zone here. The Website is from the 90's, the items sold from the 70's through the 90's and when you place an order, as prices will attest, it is also being shipped, from California...in the 90's... bad_droidboy
I bought a Jag cd with outer box for 100€. I sold it a bit later for 180. But if you're going for one on Ebay it will probably cost more
Willard
Had to check ebay after seeing some ppl recommend Best Electronics at $150... damn these things have gone up in price.
GKC
I got mine from Best Electronics. I don't think you'll beat their price for a new JagCD. Yea their website is a little dated but their service is great.
