Oscar G. #2 Posted October 5, 2013 (edited) Hello Intellfan, Great to know that you are discovering and re-discovering the games. Unfortunately, I have not played this game either. It was released after I have traded my Intellivision back in the day. I am pretty sure someone will be able to help you. This is a great community. I will be reading this thread so I can also give a try to Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 3 Edited October 5, 2013 by Oscar G.

townparkradio #4 Posted October 5, 2013 AS i recall, aren;t the colors of potions and whatnot different every time you play?
+thegoldenband #5 Posted October 6, 2013 AS i recall, aren;t the colors of potions and whatnot different every time you play? They are, yep. In the first three dungeons, which are non-random, you can map the item placements and figure out the color scheme on the fly. But in the other, random dungeons the only option is trial and error, and some of those cursed items have nasty side effects. @OP: I started working on a walkthrough for the first dungeon in Tower of Doom here. I wrote it up from the perspective of playing as the Waif, since I figured any other character would be significantly easier. Playing as the Waif is brutally tough, but if you beat a dungeon with that character, you've handled the game's toughest challenge (at least for that dungeon).

DZ-Jay #8 Posted October 6, 2013 Oh, I don't think I've ever seen this game... Is it rare?
Oscar G. #9 Posted October 6, 2013 MMM Dz, I think the game is Rare but not that Rare. I guess it is at the same level of rarity as the Super Pro games.
Oscar G. #10 Posted October 6, 2013 This game was supposed to be the last game in the AD&D trilogy. I read about this on Keith's website. In fact, if you take a look at the older Mattel Manuals some screenshots similar to Tower of Doom appear on the previews of the first AD&D game. If I remember well its original AD&D artwork was used instead for the Thunder Castle game. I am a big fan of the first two AD&D games so I guess I eventually have to give this one a try. Cool! Don't rush it, no worries. I know how it is after a move. I just unpacked my Intellivision Master Component today, and I moved two months ago! -dZ. Yep, I should give it a try. Perhaps it will show up eventually in the HSC. Not so long ago we played Treasure of Tarmin in the HSC and it was heaps of fun. Thanks for the advice. Janzl #16 Posted October 8, 2013 I started playing Treasure of Tarmin too. Fun but confusing as hell. Everything looks the same and before I know it I'm completely lost.
HunterZero #17 Posted October 9, 2013 I started playing Treasure of Tarmin too. Fun but confusing as hell. Everything looks the same and before I know it I'm completely lost. Play Tarmin for long enough, you'll start to recognise patterns in the levels. You'll even get to know where all the secret doors appear. Each level is 12x12, with a one square outer corridor. The 10x10 interior maze appears to be randomly built from four randomly selected and rotated 5x5 tile squares, with an exit/entry always in the center of each side. - James

I will keep that in mind the next time I play it!
